We had an outstanding dining experience. The food and service were superb. The 6 of us started out with homemade bruschetta which was served with homemade bread, chunks of tomatoes, balsalmic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil from Eventide Specialties. The homemade bread, also from Eventide Specialties was excellent accompanied with extra virgin olive oil and crushed olives. I had the house salad with balsalmic vinegar house dressing. The salad was full of different lettuces, carrots, cucumbers, croutons and olives. Two of us ordered the spinach ravioli in a buttered sage sauce ravioli and two ordered the lobster ravioli. These were both the best raviolis that we have ever had. One son ordered the Tagretelli Bolognese and said it was wonderful. I ordered the special, Paglia Fiero which was a fettuccine with peas and pancetta in a cream sauce. This dish was done to perfection. All of our dishes arrived piping hot and everything tasted homemade. For dessert, one son had the homemade tiramisu, the other son had the chocolate mousse, wife and daughter had a cannoli and I fresh strawberries in a basalmic vinegar sauce. All of our desserts were excellent. Our server, Josh, was extremely attentive, friendly and efficient. His recommendations were on point. The owner, Sante, keeps an eye on everyone and everything. The entire restaurant crew work in teams to assure a wonderful dining experience. This was our best meal for all of the reasons stated above.

We were looking for Italian, after having our fill of lobster, clams and haddock over the past two days. We were told by our Inn Keeper that there was no Italian place in Boothbay Harbor so we chose to go to Kaler's. Unfortunately, they stopped serving at 8:30 and it was almost 9. Low and behold, right across the street was Ports of Italy; and they were open for dinner. We had a very nice meal with linguini carolina and a nice chianti. Just what we were looking for, and a good change of pace. The menu was extensive with lots of good choices for anti pasta as well as desserts. It is not on the harbor but still has good views from the upstairs dinning area.

We live in a major metropolitan area with lots of great Italian restaurants and I would put Ports of Italy up against any of them. Gnocchi was wonderful. Lobster Ravioli was delicious. Make a reservation (we could not get a table the first night we tried) and ask to sit outside on the deck. Though not a water view, the breeze and atmosphere is very nice. Our best meal while in Boothbay Harbor.

Stayed in Boothbay for two days. Ate at Ports of Italy. Food was delicious, nice menu and great service. My husband had the special - lasagna and I had the rigatoni. Both were great.

We ate at Ports of Italy both nights we were in town. Both meals were off-the-hook delicious. Sante, the owner and muse behind this restaurant, brings a delicacy to traditional italian dishes that makes other italian restuarants seem clumsy and crude. Truly the finest italian food I've ever had. Pricey, schmicey! Are those reviewers kidding??? We had a $50 botttle of wine, two entres, shared an appetizer and a dessert and it cost us about $130. Don't miss this place.
