Second visit to this fine establishment. Both lunches were served by friendly waitstaff. Our Canadian friends had the lobster roll and declared it to be the best they'd ever had in Maine. The fried haddock sandwich was served with my choice of french fries with both items cooked to perfection and served hot.

We went on Saturday night for dinner (9/10/11) there were 4 in our party. When we arrived, we were told it would be a bit of wait to go and sit in the lounge, not a problem. After about 5 minutes, we were taken to our table. There also was a tour bus trip in the restaurant, that consisted of about 80 people. There were only 2 servers for the entire restaurant. We were not given menus and had to ask for them after 10 minutes. Our server was very nice, but overwhelmed and she told us about it only being 2 servers for the entire restaurant. We then had to ask for another round of drinks. We were never given the basket of bread, had to ask for that too. Everytime we asked for something we were told "oh sure" and would thenwait 10 minutes or more for that item to arrive. When at any restaurant you should not have to constantly ask your server to do her job, instead they should anticpate your needs. This was not the case here. The food was over priced and bland! There are plenty of other choices in the area, save your money and aggravation and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Fisherman's Wharf Inn overlooks the harbor from a site that has expanded over the years with added buildings and lodging but retains its authenticity. The Inn itself has the positive feel of its past, with rich wood panelled walls and historic photographs at the entrance to the restaurant. This sense of the past used to carry over to the menu but gave way last year to a revamped and creative array of foods. (Lobster, of course, continues.) We had two entrees: grilled salmon with black bean sauce, a sweet and spicy salsa, and basmati rice, and a veggie skewer done perfectly, so each vegetable's flavor came through. There's a good selection of local micro brews and a few affordable wines by the glass. Our server was attentive and entertaining. The restaurant is seasonal, closing in cold weather beause it sits up on pilings.

Wife and I first stopped in for lunch on our honeymoon in 1998, loved the lobster club so much we came back every year since, even staying at the hotel four or five times. We came for lunch with a friend Aug. 17, all ordering the lobster club, which was just ok, lobster and bacon good, but the thick sourdough bread overpowered what used to be best sandwich we have ever had. Please, return to the old, simple recipe. Onion rings were good. Second visit a week later was also mixed. Wifes haddock was very undercooked and fishy, not the freshest. View is the best, but do not plan on coming back again in the future. Sorry.
