you sit at this house, the only house on the island, and the staff BBQ outside and then you go get your food once its ready and the bell rings. Delicious lobsters, corn, pie, etc. feels like your grandmother just cooked this up, and tastes like it too

Thank Boris L

This was a last-minute decision for us. Having a more authentic clambake sounded good, and my wife's love of lobster was a deciding factor. The trip to the island took an hour, which was a nice experience itself. Good commentary (though sometimes hard to hear) was given by the captain, and the views were lovely.

The island itself is a small one but sufficient. Private. Dinner was prepared at shoreside over wood, with a seaweed cover. Each meal included two lobsters, a pound of steamers (which the locals were happy to educate us Midwesterners about), potato, whole shallot, egg, corn on the cob and blueberry cake. If you left hungry, it was your fault. The staff was very friends, and the 93-year-old matriarch of the family was in the gift shop and a joy to meet. Staff was very welcoming.

If you're used to buying lobster for $5/pound and eating it several times of the week, so maybe you're not impressed. You're used to it perhaps. But if you're wanting a treat, a nice day trip, the best lobster we've eaten in a shoreside setting, you won't be disappointed.

Certainly a beautiful boat ride and island, but for the price and quality of the food was very disappointing.

If you want a great day, a nice scenic boat ride, great food, and beautiful views and landscape on the island, this is for you. Our daughter gave this trip to her dad for his birthday gift and we truly enjoyed the whole experience. First, we took a leasurely boat ride over to the island with us taking the long route around islands and had the scenes and history of the islands explained to us. Then we landed on beautiful Cabbage Island. The landscape is beautiful and natural and the ocean views are just as beautiful. The food was fantastic from the chowder to the lobsters and sides to the blueberry cake. There is no way ANYONE, no matter how big an appetite you have, leaves the island hungry. One of the best parts of the experience was meeting sweet Bennie Alice (age 93). She is so cute and soooo with it. She was a joy to talk to as she made her way from table to table greeting everyone. The wait staff also was very attentive. Drinks were served to us immediately upon sitting down. Refills on our coffee and ice tea were constant. The shell bowls were emptied repeatedly and the supply of napkins was endless. The only negative that I could see someone complaining about was our boat was booked full and some people could not find seating. Part of the problem was people saving seats for those who were out front and never ended up sitting down so the seats were saved for nothing.

We are native New Englanders - so have a good idea of what makes a great clam and lobster bake.
This was simply a fantastic experience - nice boat tour of the bay on the way out to the island. Cabbage Island itself is a cute little island with great views.
The clam bake itself was just wonderful. Maybe the best steamed clams we have ever had. Perfectly cooked lobsters (you get two), great fish chowder to start, well done traditional sides and the BEST blueberry cake for dessert.
Everyone is friendly and will take great care to see that you are well taken care of.
Could not recommend more highly. If you are anywhere near Boothbay Harbor this is a must do!!!!
