Description: Locally caught lobster is our specialty. Several hundred pounds are stored in our sea water tank. You may select your own from the tank and watch as they are prepared for cooking in our large outdoor pots. We have all sizes of the tasty shellfish, from one to four pounds. To those new to lobster, we will gladly assist on how to best eat them and explain the differences between hard and soft shell. The Outdoor Patio at The Lobster Dock The flavor of Maine is further captured in our other offerings. Stews and chowders are prepared daily from only the freshest ingredients. The shrimp and scallops we use are caught in the waters of the Boothbay Region. Clams are also supplied by local diggers most every day. Our mussels are grown on a salt water farm in Tenants Harbor. Fish caught in the North Atlantic are supplied to us from Boothbay Fish Dealers. We accept only the freshest available. It is not unusual for us to refuse deliveries that do not meet our quality standards.

“Best lobster dock in Boothbay”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Every lobster pound has lobster and the prices are pretty much the same. All serve some other sea food and something for land lubbers, but the :Lobster Dock has friendly service and a caring staff. run by a ball of fire owner, Mitch. who makes the rounds to make sure whether you are standing in line or at a table that you are happy. He also serve slow cooked prime rib of beef over the weekends. You stand in line for 15 minutes to give your order and then you find a table. (there are plenty) and the staff comes to find you and bring your order to you. This touch and the kind and courteous staff set this place above any others in the area. Mitch kibbetzes with the patrons and looks over the operation.. H want s everyone to be satisfied and by the number of return guests, that is the case.

“Consistently Wonderful”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Stopped in with family and friends for a lunch to celebrate a Birthday in our party. Everyone was pleased with their selections and the freshness of the seafood and side dishes was evident. The gorgeous day and Harbor views made it even more wonderful! The choice of a hot or cold lobster roll is an awesome choice. And their crab meat roll is the best in the Mid-Coast of Maine! Homemade potato salad and cole slaw made us want more. We knew it would be busy and arrived for lunch just after they opened.

“Beautiful Harbor View”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Go at an off time to avoid the long line. We waited over a half-hour to get to the order window. It wasn't a problem since we were on vacation and didn't need to be somewhere, but if you have trouble standing or have restless children, it can be troublesome. There is a handy picnic table, rug, and water bowl for those with dogs, which was really nice.

I ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail and a lobster roll. The shrimp were still in the shell and not jumbo. The cocktail sauce was wonderfully spicy. The lobster roll was generously filled with claw meat and light mayo. The bun was buttered and grilled, but the bottom was ripped so I had to eat it with a knife and fork--no big deal. My husband ordered the steak and lobster tail which he liked, but wasn't nuts about. With a San Pellegrino and ice tea the bill was about $65.00. Personally I don't think it was worth all that, but we did enjoy the great view.

“Highlight of Boothbay Harbor”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

In a four-night stay in BBH, we must have had three meals at the Lobster Dock. To avoid the waits mentioned in other reviews, try hitting up the Lobster Dock for lunch or anytime before 5ish. We never waited longer than a couple minutes. Live lobster in a tank to your table in 15 minutes. Lobster rolls are full of meat and not too much mayo; fried fish is fresh; crab cakes full of crab. It is not fancy, but serves tasty, fresh seafood on a deck with a panoramic view of the bay.
