. . .without batting an eye. Service was great. Enjoyed watching my three great grandchildren eat their first ever lobster. In spite of the large group the service was quick and attentive and the food was great.

I am a Virginia Native but travel to Maine every summer. Have been for the past 30 years. This is a newer place. I have enjoyed the oysters of the Chesapeake many times but nothing compares to the cold water, fresh taste of Glidden Point Oysters. You can order them raw, fried and combo them with different variations and twists. The two of us racked up a $100+ tab at lunch alone and I was more than happy with spending that. You can make it a cheaper trip but the first time was to taste all they had to offer. Plus there is a full bar and it doesnt hurt that its in the heart of central Boothbay Harbor.

There is great potential with Mine Oyster as it has a great location, but at the moment it seems to be trying to cover too many bases and falling somewhat short - is it an oyster bar, full service restaurant, bar, private function venue, live music venue? At the moment it's trying to be everything. We were offered a seat in the oyster bar or the restaurant and we chose the restaurant as we wanted the broader menu. We ended up in the bar in the middle of a private function. The service was patchy and the food mediocre. This place needs to decide what it wants to be.

We attended a function upstairs in 2012the and loved the food. New menu and chef this year and food was average in TINY portions. Four small bites of chicken and three bites of zucchini on skewer...five onion rings and half cup potato salad. Friends say oysters are great but that is all. Waitress good but kitchen slow. Will not go back and we live three miles away.
