My family enjoyed the fresh oysters and lobster and highly recommend this place to anyone that appreciates great food. The price is right and the food better.

My husband loves raw oysters, and has had them all over, up and down the east coast. He said these were the best he's ever had. The chilled gulf shrimp I had were also very good. Huge, seasoned perfectly. Awesome!

The raw oyster bar was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed sucking down the delightful treats. The "oyster quotes" on the wall were so much fun to read through and ponder. We ate dinner there one night and ordered bar-b-q that was wonderful. It tasted like some sort of jerk rub but not 100% on the spices. Stay away from the oyster stew though, that was a flop. The service was nice and the atmosphere was booth bay, what more can you say.

Offering a broad selection of raw oysters and dishes featuring oysters and other fresh seafood. The oyster stew was superb-- made with fresh cream and plump oysters. So was the green salad topped with strips of fresh fried haddock. Yum! I would definitely go back to try some more items on their menu, lots of varieties of baked oysters (Rockafeller, etc.) Raw oyster prices were a little high ($2.50 - $3/oyster), only a quantity discount (6 for $12) on the local Glidden oysters, which are pretty good, but not my first choice. Still, everything was quite fresh, including the salad, and the service was exceptionally good.

The decor is a work-in-progress, having just taken over the space from J.Hawk which had been there for years. Like several other good restaurants in BoothBay Harbor, this one requires climbing a steep flight of stairs to get to the dining area. This one has a huge bar/dance area upstairs (which was empty when we were there for lunch)-- so it felt kind of odd. But it must be jumping in the evening. We sat on a tiny deck facing out over the water; that was quite pleasant.

Went to have a drink after dinner and was greatly surprised by the music we heard. A terrific band led by a wonderful sax player. They played sort of a jazzy rock blend and the very young guitarist was terrific.
