On a summer trip up the coast in Maine. We stopped at Shorehills after reserving out 2 nights on line. What a nice place, clean shaded and it had it all. Big sites which gave you nice privacy, gravel and level. They had a large 50amp area for those who have mega motorhomes. The nicest part we enjoyed was the Sea feed natural lake which was so pretty to sit and watch the sunet. They had paved sites for a little more per night that would park you right at the lake. For a ( 2.00 fee per person round trip) thay had their own small bus that would take you to Boothbay Harbor so you just leave the RV and off ya go to town for the day.

Boothbay harbor was to us better then visiting Bar Harbor, much more reasonable prices in resturaunts and attractions and the people who live year round in Boothbay are fisherman its not all just tourest there.

They dont do credit cards, so month or so before we left we sent by mail a check a deposit, I reserved it because I like to know I have a spot, but their were plenty of open sites once we got their which was durning the week in the summer. What a super clean place we loved it and will be back. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would say 9.5 bathrooms clean, staff very nice as well. Good Sam park discount applied sites for 30 amp full hookup were about 45 per night.

We spent a week in the one cabin on the site. It was clean and attractive, and had everything we needed and expected. There were three minor drawbacks (one of which is stated on the website) - it has 2 single beds, a bit complicated for a couple, the beds were quite saggy and soft, and there was no A/C (and it was really HOT when we were there!). They did have fans, however, and the linens were clean and nice. The campground is amazingly well maintained also, and the cost of the cabin was VERY reasonable. As others noted they have a shuttle to town, and the staff were friendly. We would definitely go back, we would also take a camper there.

Our family stayed 4 nights on site #69. Beautiful views, quiet atmosphere, Bathrooms were immaculate. campground is pet friendly (a plus). The strict clean-up after your pet rule - great! Dog owners know what I mean. FREE canoe\kayak rental was a nice feature. Camp store had EVERYTHING. Amazing water views although tidal. Campground sites were clean and well spaced. Cannot wait to go again.

Nice campground right down the road from Boothbay. They have a shuttle service to downtown. Limited activities at the campground, but your activities should be at the beautiful shore of the Maine coast. RV sites are level and well planned and cared for by the hosts.

My father, husband and I stayed at the campground for 3 nights on site #69. It is a beautiful site with wonderful sunset views over the water, sometimes mudflat, depending on the tide. We had a 28' pull behind and it was fairly easy to put on the site.

Loved:

Clean sites
Space around each site was very nice
Good bathroom facility*
Sooooo quiet
No pet poopies anywhere
Trash cans right on each site
Very easy drive to the harbor
Pretty walks to take

Not so great, but this is my opinion:

* one shower in the women's room was 7 mins. per quarter (go to the right when you enter), the other was only 5. Hmmm, I got stuck using the 5 minute shower on the last day because someone else was in the "good" shower.

being charged an extra $10 per day for "extra adult"... there were only 3 of us on the site. Families of 4 pay the same price for the site but because we had no kids and instead had our dad with us...why the extra charge? I would think they would go by the # of people not the age of them. We paid it, but I do not understand the thinking there.

Cash only. They DO NOT take "plastic". I can understand they don't want the hassle and the costs involved... and I had been forewarned when I made the reservation, but it is a little bit of a nuisance, and no one will be getting any travel points on their cards by staying there.

The fire pits are not placed so that you can sit fully around them. They are set up more for semi circle use. As we walked around the campground we saw that most of them were perched on the edge of the site overlooking the water... pretty, yes, but just not as functional. If we had brought our daughters we would have had a difficult time sitting us all around.

Room Tip: Choose one of the sites by the water if you can.
