“Very clean and comfortable”

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Cap'n Fish's. The room was very clean and comfortable. The Dockside Grill on the premise is quite good for breakfast. Great lobster omelet. Close to the footbridge to the town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Capt Fish's Waterfront Inn! We had a large deck outside our room and enjoyed sitting out looking at the sailboats, ships, and lobster boats in the harbor. We also liked watching the town across the water. We could walk across the footbridge to shopping, restaurants, and the dock to get on our whale watching tour. The Dockside Grill right in the parking lot was a great place to eat. Our rooms were older but clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The weather improved just before labor day so we made a trip we had been thinking of to booth bay harbor. I contacted several motels in the area but somehow Capn Fish's seemed the right fit. The most expensive room facing the water was $130 and we booked it. We were not expecting much but were very pleased. Rooms a little smaller but recently updated with new bathrooms and flat screen tv's. Only thing we did not like was the free continental breakfast, not much to try except the coffee. The weather was perfect for us to leave the windows open for the fresh air, the view of the harbor spectacular and so calm. I think we ate lobster at every meal and never spent more than $20 sometimes for three lobsters for one person. Red's is also great for lunch on the way in. McSeagulls was good for food and entertainment and only a short walk. We wish we had tried the kayaks or boards we saw people floating on, but we will go back again!

Room Tip: Pay the extra $15 and get a room facing the water. You will have a good size deck and table to call...

Ok, this place is basically a no frill getaway for the economy minded person. No mints on the pillow or fancy amenities, just a simple and very cheap accommodation. That said, it is also clean, staffed with friendly people and located conveniently to the Harbor. I would definitely stay here again.

The inn was nice. Rooms are small, but livable. When the A/C broke down in our room, they were right there to fix it with no problem and apologized for the situation. Breakfast was good for children. Two different kinds of cereal, donuts and they did have coffee and tea. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Room Tip: Choose room with Harbor View or Waterfront view.

This hotel is in a great location next to the walking bridge which brings you into the town. The hotel itself is older however, you are in a sea town (small village) so your not going to find upscale hotel chains. If your looking for the Ritz Carlton you won't find it here. You get what you pay for. However, what makes this such a nice place to stay is the staff. The woman who handled my reservation and who had met me upon my arrival was delightful and informative. This hotel is also pet friendly which is a plus for me.

We happened on Cap'n Fish's for a last minute/first time trip to Boothbay Harbor, ME. What luck! Thanks to the TA reviews, I chose this inn and it served its purpose beautifully. We had a good clean room with a harbor view, (once you went out on the deck). It was quiet there, the people in the front office couldn't have been friendlier, the beds were comfortable, the price totally reasonable, and the location was perfect for our needs. We were able to walk across the footbridge into the town of BBH, and yet get away from the crowds when we had enough. We chose 2 restaurants for dinner; one between Cap'n Fish's and Brown's, the Boothbay Harbor Lobster Wharf, our first night and enjoyed a fabulous lobster dinner. The next night we walked the other way, to the Lobster Dock, and had an okay fisherman's platter. Should have stuck to lobster. Both restaurants had seating overlooking the harbor, outdoors, so we aren't complaining! We also had breakfast first at The Bridge, in town (it was okay) and then right at the Dockside Grill on the Capn Fish's Inn premises. I prefer the Dockside, cause we sat right on the harbor again.(love sitting on the harbor!) We also brought and made our own coffee in the room (no keurig here, but a real coffee pot...yes!!) and brought it to accompany our fine blueberry pancake breakfast at Dockside. On the way up to Boothbay, we stopped in Georgetown at 5 Islands Lobster for lobster roll sandwiches. Man o man yumness. We took a lot of typically Maine, fabulous BRLT hikes- but-didn't explore the Botanical Gardens. Guess we'll just have to return to Boothbay, and Cap'n Fish's will be our inn of choice!
