Arrived at noon on a sunday after a 400 mile drive with 2 kids and a dog in the car, receptionist looked at us like we were from another planet. They informed us that checkin was after 3pm, my wife asked if they could get us settled into room any earlier would be greatly appreciated. They got us into the room at 2:45, so we had to wonder the property with 2 cranky kids and a dog for 2+hrs.

The actual stay was very nice, we had the tanager cottage. It had 3+ bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It could have easily slept 8 people but dining room and kitchen are very small. Only issue with room was that we found a few bugs but we were in a cabin in the woods in Maine

Boothbay harbor was great visit, 6hr drive from north jersey. My son loved the footbridge and looking at the boats. Def recommend lobster dock inc for food, how can you beat a whole lobster dinner for $14.95

Great location, amazing views and dog friendly. Not too far of a walk (or really quick drive) to downtown. Nice walking trails on the resort which was great to let our dog run around. Extremely clean and quiet at night. The sunsets over the harbor were unreal!! Great place to stay for dog lovers. One of the best dog friendly resorts I have been to.

Very great place. Has a the feel of a small bed and breakfast with all the amenities of a big resort hotel. There are two pools (one seaside), volley ball area, badminton, shuffle board, giant checkers, nature wooded trails, restaurants, and a bar. The full service spa is awesome too. We had seaside massages, which were spectacular. You can also kayak/ride bikes/ take a car or boat shuttle into town- all provided free for guests of the hotel. Hotel is also very dog friendly!

Room Tip: All rooms have a fridge!

My wife and her mother brought our two boys (8 & 11) up on a Monday. I joined them on Thursday night. We had two connecting rooms. They were both huge and had just been renovated so they had all of the latest and greatest - Kuerig coffee makers, fridges and flat screen TV's.
One of the best features was the grounds. We could just let the boys go. The property has a campus like layout with no car traffic to speak of and plenty of things for the kids to do. They spent a lot of time riding the bikes that the resort provides, playing badmitten and in the game room (air hockey, pool and old video games).
The kids also loved the children's program, which was really well run. They had interesting and different activities each day that were tailord to the individual kids interests (my boys liked making slime). The times that the kids were in the program were great for my wife and I. We were able to go sea kayaking, take a walk in the woods and relax by the pool down by the ocean.
They way the property's laid out made it easy to forget about the kids. The kids activities are all pretty separate and there are two dining rooms - one geared more towards families with burgers etc and one more formal where my wife and I were able to have an excellent meal. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced.
Try to take the launch boat into Bar Harbor. It's free - as were all of the activities and well worth it. It's basically a guided tour of the harbor and a great way to get into town.
We will definitely be back

We spent 5 wonderful nights. The resort is on the water, close to town but in a quiiet, secluded area. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was very large with a sitting area, kitchenette, 2 closets, and a large bath with a marble floor. The bed was very comfortable with luxurious linens and many pillows. The only complaint we had was the carpet was dirty - it should not have been considering the price. There are 2 pools - the one perched at the ocean's edge is stunning. Sitting in adirondack chairs on the lawn overlooking the sparkling bay with a glass of wine was a favorite spot.

We took our best friends up for a two night stay for their anniversary. I was a little nervous staying at a family resort without kids. What a beautiful surprise. From check in to check out we felt like we were the only ones in the inn. The staff was unbelievably accommodating
It is a perfect location with boat or van service to or from town. We stayed in the main inn and both rooms - one smaller facing ocean with balcony and one larger in back of the inn. Both were so charming...very comfortable. We loved our stay so much we booked again for the following week to bring our three kids up to enjoy it. I think we just found our new summer spot!

Room Tip: For two people room 7 is a smaller room but a great view. Room 8 is great for 4/5. Nice and roomy.
