“Great little aquarium for families with kids!”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

We always bring our little grandkids here to learn about the local coastal fish & living organisms of Maine. The love the shark petting pool. Great little spot to spend a couple of hours. Also, a beautiful view of the coast & spot for a picnic.

“Only for kids”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

We spent 7.50$ after a discount for vetrans, entered and were totally shocked that there was only one room to look at exhibits. This is a VERY small aquarium. It's dark, croweded with shreaking children and fustrated parents. There is a touch tank in the middle of the room with a staff member running it and another one along side of the room full of shells, crabs etc, If you want to go somewhere with kids under age 8 then this is the spot. This is not made for adult nature enthusiests.

“Small, Interactive”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

This was a different kind of aquarium. It was one little room full of fish tanks. There were two "touch tanks" were you can touch and hold sea creatures! You can pet lobsters, hold a crab, touch chain cat fish sharks, and more. Go to the Maine State Aquarium!

“Hands On”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

The grandkids had a good time with the pool containing a number of sea creatures. The exhibits were limited but covered many local species. Windows were hard to see through in some cases.

“Small but what fun for kids of all ages!”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

You heard your mother say, "Wash your hands after going to the bathroom," well....wash your hands here before handling the sea creatures! The best part of this experience was being able to hold the sea scallops, the sea cucumbers, the purple starfish, horseshoe crabs, and dangling your fingers in the tanks as baby sharks swim up to touch them. The staff was informative and eager to share the marine-life information. I'm not sure who was having more fun...the kids or the BIG KIDS in their 60s!
