If you have children this aquarium is a must see while in the area!!!
The aquarium tank displays are crystal clear and beautiful. Although it is just one room you won't be disappointed. The main attractions are the touch tanks. One touch tank is about 20 feet long and the staff members help you learn about what you're picking up. There are lobsters, sea urchins, crabs, sea cucumbers, scallops (that open and close while holding them) clams, star fish, etc. The other touch tank, and my daughters favorite, contains horseshoe crabs, scates, and last but not least, Dogfish sharks. These sharks come right up to you and actually enjoy being touched. Once in awhile they pop the heads out of the water as if to get your attention. We went back three times during the week! It's not expensive and the scenery outside it some of Maines finest. Bring some lunch and have a picnic at the picnic tables. It's well worth going!
