We traveled up from Portland after hearing great things. It was well worth the drive! The rhododendron garden was huge and gorgeous. The lady slippers were also in full bloom, hundreds of them, which were breathtaking. I highly recommend taking the drive out there even if it's out of the way. We are hoping to make it back there next month!

We enjoyed both the manicured gardens and the wooded areas. It took us about three hours to cover the gardens, but the main part of the gardens could be seen in less time.

Visited the gardens with my children and my parents. Hard to believe its only been open a few years as the plants are wonderfully filled out. Everyone enjoyed the garden of five senses and the children's garden. My kids enjoyed picking blueberries and eating them (they use lowbush blueberries as ground cover and encourage you to pick them.) The cafe was first rate! You could spend most of a day here. They offer a family rate which is well worth the $$

The gardens and the great views (along with the charms of Boothbay Harbor) had my wife ready to move here! This is really a very beautiful setting. This place was definitely a trip highlight. In addition to the garden aspect, the place is really large and we got a great hike in just taking the woodland trails (the waterfall area is not to be missed). They have transport to the further afield areas if you want to lessen the walking. They also have a very large children's garden that seemed popular with the kids. One could easily spend several hours here. They also have a cafe where you can get a lunch. There were a lot of people here on the day of our visit, but we never felt crowded. Go.
