Stopped here with a friend I was visiting. The outside looks like a roadside shack you might not want to try. They have a take out window but we decided to eat inside. There are four booths, clean but small.
Staff is very friendly and they have fast service. We had lobster rolls which were very good, my only criticism would be that I wish the roll had been buttered and toasted. The sweet potato fries were excellent, as were the regular fries. Everything is served in paper so don't expect fine dining. All in all, good food at a decent price especially if you are in a hurry. They also have tables outside.

The Fish Net looks like a typical road side shack drive-up restaurant frequently seen in Maine, but after sampling their wonderful food you will realize it is truly a special “eatery” with its own unique approach. Only the large number of cars and long line of customers alerts a passerby to the well deserved popularity of this small restaurant. The tourists and locals belly up to the busy order window in anticipation of a pleasant eating experience.

As a visitor to Maine the lobster roll is a “must have” experience. The Fish Net does a fantastic job on their lobster roll. Their rendition of the Maine Lobster Roll is presented in a typical Maine roadside drive style served in a paper serving dish. A first time Maine visitor may be surprised that such an expensive sandwich would be served in such an informal manner, but that is the way it is done in Maine, so trust and jump in.

If you return for a second visit give the Fried Haddock Sandwich or Double Bacon Cheese Burger with Onion Rings a try or my favorite the Scallop Roll. The Scallop Roll is similar in appearance to the Lobster Roll, but served hot. The flavor is fantastic and will not be disappoint.

Remember you are on vacation so a desert needs to be part of your experience. During a recent visit the Fish Net was offering seven home-made deserts. Some of the deserts featured the local wild blueberries. A wide variety of ice cream items is offered in soft serve or flavors made by regional dairies. .

While your meal is being prepared take a seat in the shade at one of the picnic tables under the large trees or claim a location in one of the shelters behind the restaurant. If you are lucky you may see one of the local lobster fishermen make a back door delivery of their freshly caught bounty from the local waters.

The Fish Net also sells fresh seafood including lobster and scallops that can be prepared at home. The prices are fair and based on local market conditions.

The Fish Net must be on your schedule if you are in Blue Hill, Maine. It sets right next to the Blue Hill Co-Op Community Market another wonderful & colorful local enterprise. Expect to be standing in line at the Fish Net or the Co-Op with tourists or locals all waiting for first class service and first class eating experiences.

Classic lobster shack style place, with ice cream and good quality food. Inside might be nice, but we didn't go in. We ordered lobster from the window, and came back a few times when we were hungry in Blue Hill. Cute place, solid food, good sundaes and ice cream too. Closing for the season in early October, which is too bad.

Great place to stop and sit on a shade covered picnic table and enjoy a scallop roll! We enjoyed how fresh the fish was and great grab and go type of spot for lunch. Worth the 10 min line to order.

A little hole in the wall in Blue Hill, but the best lobster roll we had. Not too expensive either. The little dining room is cool, but best is sitting out at the picnic tables. Just down the hill from the Blue Hill Fair.
