We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Charming, clean, and super innkeepers. Fabulous breakfast. Comfy living room with lots of books, games, and puzzles if you want to relax. Very quiet and clean. If I'm up vacationing in that area again, we will return to the Holidae House.

My fiancé and I enjoyed a lovely New Years Eve stay at the Holidae House after a day of skiing at Sunday River. We were greeted with freshly baked cookies, and Lawrence's warm welcome. Our room was clean, cute, and cozy. Breakfast, prepared by Lawrence, was the highlight (amazing French toast)! We would definitely stay here again.

This is the second year we stayed at Austin's Holidae House. Again, it was first class. We arrived at the last minute on a whim. Laurence went right into high gear to make arrangements for us so we could have a room for 3 nights. Our room was super cosy! We love the Victorian decor and the ambiance. The bed was extremely comfortable.(and we're kinda fussy about that!) Our daughter was thrilled to discover that Laurence makes cookies and leaves them out for the guests. They were delicious(gingerbread and oatmeal chocolate chip-soooooo good) and a nice treat to come home to after a long day skiing. The breakfast is absolutely incredible. From the freshly baked ginger/cranberry scones to the cinnamon french toast with fresh maple syrup to the wonderful coffee- its a great way to start the day. Don't plan on eating lunch after the huge breakfast - you will be full all day. Laurence is a master chef and his wife is a master baker and its evident. For example, not many people can cook eggs correctly as it is an art. Laurence cooks eggs the way they are meant to be cooked and are they ever good! He even taught my wife the science behind perfectly cooked scrambled eggs!

We love this Inn and plan to go back again. The location is very convenient (close to Sunday River) and the atmosphere we find to be very relaxing and comfortable. The owners are very kind people. What more can you ask for?We also like it here because there are no loud people and out of control kids running around. Its quiet and comfy.

If you want to save some big bucks without sacrificing comfort you'll want to stay here.

Room Tip: You will save money by staying here because you will not need to purchase lunch after eating the inc...

My wife & I really enjoyed our stay here for 1 night in Sept 2012. From the outside this B&B looks nothing - indeed it could do with being freshened up - but inside the welcome from Marcia & Laurence was great and we really got the impression that nothing was too much trouble. Like the rest of the B&B, our room (2) was quite old fashioned and cluttered with ornaments etc, whereas we would have preferred more free space and more modern decor, however the room itself and the bathroom were clean and good sized. The 'help yourself' post dinner drinks and afternoon tea in the lounge were great ways of meeting other guests. The breakfast was the best we had during our month long trip to New England and it's a pity we only had 1 night at Austin's as the other options sounded and looked great too!

All in all, one of the friendliest hotels/B&Bs we stayed in, one which we would recommend wholeheartedly to others and to which we would certainly return if returning to Bethel.

Room Tip: Room 2 has a small television.

We enjoyed our three day stay. Marcia and Laurence are great cooks and enjoyable company. I have fond memories of early morning conversations with Laurence pror to breakfast - he is so English. (That's intended as a compliment!)

Our room was quite large, and the shared space on the first floor was enjoyable. We met several guests during our stay and had interesting late-night conversations. We also enjoyed the breakfasts - the food was very good and the rather tight seating resulted in even more conversation.

There are two good restaurants within a block's walk - no need to get in the car. And there is very good parking behind the B&B. We also enjoyed walking around Bethel - it's one of those historic Maine villages that roll up the sidewalk on Sunday evenings. A great place for a stroll.

There is also good hiking and touring nearby. This is a good base for peeping at the fall leaves.

The one caveat is that the rooms could use a little more light - especially the entry area when the hall light is off.

This is good B&B - very cozy, friently and welcoming.

We had a really lovely stay here with Marcia and Laurence. They made us feel very welcome and their suggestions of things to see and do were very useful. The room was a good size and very comfortable.
Breakfasts were marvellous and so filling that lunch was often not required. In the evening, a nightcap from the tray of drinks in the sitting room was a welcome extra touch.
We had one exceptional day at Grafton Notch where we were lucky enough to see both a moose with her calf and also a black bear cub (see photos). We also enjoying seeking out the covered bridges in the area.
This is a lovely B&B in a nice quiet location, with plenty of things to see and do nearby. You wont go far wrong staying here.
