We just returned from a wonderful weekend at the Bethel Inn. My wife and I celebrated her birthday for the 2nd year in a row in Bethel, but this time we brought along our 5 month old and my mother-in-law. Weather was great even if there were a few rain showers, room was perfect (room 342 in the Oaks Building) and the overall stay was as nice as last year. We fumbled into Mollocket Days last year and were eager to return for the festivities and the fireworks. Neither disappointed us!

The Inn is older, but the charm and the ability to get away from it all while remaining in Maine is a huge attraction. Is it the Ritz? No. Is it the Samoset? No. But, don't go there looking for glitz and glamour. Go there because you enjoy outdoor activities (golfing, tennis, shuffleboard, walking in town, going to the pool or any number of other choices) or because you want to experience the quaintness of a timeless inn located in a fun little ski town that has ample opportunities to enjoy all year round.

Room Tip: Choose a room outside of the main inn if possible. We've had great luck in the new condos on th...

Great stay at this wonderful Inn. Nice rooms, clean and large. The staff is very friendly and having a golf course on-site is great! Easy walk to a charming downtown area with shops and restaurants. I will stay here again for sure...

I recently did a girl's trip to the Golf Academy at the Bethel Inn. It was a really wonderful experience, the staff were all very nice, the rooms were big and clean, and the facilities were beautiful. The best part was the golf school. We had Harry Andrews as our pro for the weekend and he was a really informative and patient teacher. We were all novice golfers and came away feeling like much more experienced golfers. I've had lessons in the past and had never gotten much from them before working with Harry. To top it off the price for the entire weekend is only $499, definitely worth the money.

We stayed at the townhouse on the golf course. Lots of room , full kitchen ( but go out; so many good dining choices in the area and the Inn), washer/dryer...there's no place like home comfy. We enjoy the porch for a peaceful breakfast and sunset with a glass of wine with a golf course and mountain view. It rained a good part of the week , but still took advantage of the pool( food and lounge service on some days-Becky makes a great frozen mud slide, among others), gym, canoe/kayak & Lake House with Raft( rustic, but beautiful & Loon Sighting spot). Billiards at the Grill with entertainment and sports bar atmosphere inside and patio seating outside and screened area. Mexican Night dinner was very good. Too wet for tennis this year & little golf due to the rain. We found Bethel on a Golf package years ago at the Inn. Great deal for golfers. I rented the townhouse for a girls Yoga/ Spa weekend last spring. So much fun. We'll have to plan another. The Grafton State Park offers plenty of hiking, occasional moose sightings and viewing falls & geological sights nearby. The Adventure Center offers lots of family fun. We take the Androscogin River canoe trip every year. Look for the Eagles and pair of Large owls. This July 4th week included Free music at the Gould Academy ( throughout the week), Historic Society Annual 4th Brass Quartet & BYO picnic(across the st.), & Annual Art Fair, music, local restaurant food, car parade w/ 100 Year Celebration Fashion Show, and Fireworks on the 18th Hole that Saturday.Take your bike and a sense of adventure ! Enjoy.

Room Tip: There are a few options depending on your personal needs. We like quiet so tend to stay in the town...

We live in Boston and wanted to get into the "countryside" to escape the busy 4th of July weekend. The Inn was great for a weekend get-away, located in northern Maine away from the business of coast, we wanted a calm and relaxing weekend and this is exactly what we found. The entire staff seemed extremely happy to have us at the Inn for the weekend. All of the servers and bartenders were very personable and friendly and provided us with great quality service. One night we got to watch the fireworks in the dining room while eating a great 5 star meal... The dining room and staff stayed open while we ate and watched the fireworks even though we were the only people in the restaurant, this was absolutely amazing... The entire staff was extremely accommodating and gracious. It definitely seemed as if they did everything they could to make sure that we had an enjoyable weekend, which we did. Whether you are a couple looking to get away for the weekend or a group of families looking to vacation together I would highly recommend the Bethel Inn!

I found the Bethel Inn when looking for a weekend getaway. It was only about 3 1/2 hours from Boston and a pretty easy drive. The resort itself is a classic New England inn that dates back 100 years but it still looks good. Other than needing a paint job on a few exterior walls, the overall place was in great condition. The town is a bit sleepy in the summer but it was a nice relaxing place with some nice places nearby for hiking and exploring. The restaurants at the Inn were fantastic and the service couldn't be beat. We don't play golf but the course looked nice. The boathouse on the lake was beautiful and a nice touch. They seem to have some pretty good deals available so search around and find the right one for you.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the golf course to really appreciate your surroundings.

Just back from a group vacation at the Bethel Inn. We had a fabulous time. The grounds are beautiful. We loved our rooms, very comfortable beds and numerous choices for pillows (5), Whirlpool bath, lots of choices for tv stations, very clean, spacious and updated for an older inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and buffet breakfast, both were delicious.
We loved the pool and it's salt water...very clean and refreshing. We had a fantastic waitress for dinner and breakfast (she looked like Kathleen Bates), she provided excellent service. We had a game night in one of the libraries, they moved lights for us and provided a fan at our request. Not a single complaint here...a nice relaxing long weekend was had by all in our group.
Waitress at pool was also very efficient and helpful:)

Room Tip: Deluxe suites are the way to go:) Also ask for one with a balcony
