This homey and warm restaurant serves up the best food in Bethel, and we've been coming here for 20 years. Forget about those overpriced restaurants on the mountain in Sunday River, drive into the beautiful, quaint town of Bethel, and enjoy the best of Maine cuisine served up by dedicated and professional staff. Stan Milton, the chef-owner, is an AMAZING chef, and the fare is quite sophisticated and well prepared. Try anything, and you will be happily suprised that the fish dishes are cooked to perfection, the steaks just the way you ordered them, and everything else is perfect. The SS Salad is what you'd get in a NYC 4-star restaurant. Do Not Skip Dessert. The chocolate lava cake is to die for, as are all the other offerings. A children's menu is offered as well.

In the town of Bethel, not busy when we were there, so had a quiet table. The service staff was attentive, the menu carried traditional fare, focusing on seafood.

We read the great reviews on Tripadvisor about this place and made a reservation for the one night that we were spending in Bethel. Make sure you make a reservation as this place gets booked very quickly (people had to be turned away the night we were there because they were so busy).

It has a homely feel like you are eating in your aunt's house or something! But the food is excellent. I had the lobster bisque to start and then the lobster casserole as a main. My wife tried the sole stuffed with scallops. The food was excellent. As the place was busy, the food did take a while to get to the table but it was worth the wait.

As it was the season, we tried their pumpkin pie which was delicious! It's all good here!

We paid about 80 Canadian Dollars for two people including a glass of wine each, water, tax and tip. It's a little expensive but worth it for the good food you get here.

We were passing through Bethel on our way across the state and after reading Trip Advisor reviews, we stopped at Stan and Sue Milton's restaurant in the little downtown. We four sat on the porch and were served by a chatty local gal who was funny and helpful. We started our lunch with hot mulled-cider, which was simply wonderful, we then had tuna melts, a lobster grilled cheese sandwich, and a lobster roll - all of which were super yummy. For what it's worth, our dear server told us that they were about to close for the season (for 6 weeks) - so you will have to wait until mid-December to enjoy their fare again in 2013!

We were referred to this place by several locals and it exceeded our expectations. The seafood is fantastic and the blueberry desert is a must try!
