“Peaceful retreat”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

I am not prone to writing reviews, but our stay at Bethel Hill was so delightful that I am eager to recommend it. Scott and Carol made us feel like honored guests in their immaculate and lovely home. They helped us find enjoyable excursions each day (even when it was raining), cooked delicious breakfasts, and provided us with a restful and peaceful retreat. We are thankful we stayed at Bethel Hill.

We just returned from our first trip to Maine, and Bethel Hill was our first stop. We were met and greeted by name, shown to a lovely suite with period antiques. There was friendliness but no intrusion into our privacy, which we value. Lovely place for eating breakfast, and the hostess gave us such perfect maps and suggestions for sightseeing, that this ended up being the best day and best place out of our whole vacation. The house itself is modern-looking but immaculate and very tastefully decorated. We liked that it was on a quiet residential street.

Had a great night before the harvestfest. The room was really lovely, can't believe how much Carol and Scott did themsleves to convert the rooms. Waffles and berries for breakfast were just scrummy and the guide to local restaurants and their recommendations were spot on.

Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, absolutely superb service, beautiful furnishings. Scott and Carol are superior innkeepers and were SO warm and welcoming. We looked at three other inns in town and are SO glad that we kept looking and found them. Any of their three rooms would be an excellent choice. All are private, quiet, and sumptuously appointed. Honestly, call them first; if they have availability, stay with them. Period. Excellent value.

Thank you for taking the initiative and time to review our B&B. It is so nice to have accolades from another inn keeper. We hope to be ablet to stay at one of your inns on Marthas Vineyard someday.

We had the opportunity to attend a wedding in Bethel and luckily arranged reservations for ourselves and another couple. Carol and Scott were the quintessential hosts; their home is spotless, comfortable, and has several very comfortable common areas. We will stay there again if and when we ever get back to Bethel.

Room Tip: Downstairs room has access to outside seating.

Stayed at Bethel Hill B&B last week & could not have been more pleased. The couple who own the place put a lot of love & attention into restoring the place. Our room was comfortable, clean & perfect. Our breakfast eggs were made to order which is such a nice change from the usual B&B egg casserole. Highly recommend.

We stayed here in March and enjoyed it greatly. Had the downstairs room which is very roomy and has a wonderful whirlpool tub (big enough for 2). Like the modern conveniences such as flat screen TV in room. House is beautiful and spotless, at end of quiet street. Delicious brownies were left out for guests at all times as were hot water/tea. Owners are very pleasant and know everything about the area. Walking distance to downtown Bethel and several great restaurants. Enjoyed esp. the Korean-Japanese place in town - very authentic - and the inn called 22 Broad just down the street.
Only one concern/suggestion: radio station is piped in all day which got to be annoying. Second night there, owners forgot to turn off sound system and went to bed with it on - speakers were just outside our door and we were hearing the radio at midnight. Luckily I had earplugs and white noise machine or I would have been kept up all night. Would stay there again regardless.

Room Tip: We saw all 3 rooms and they are all very nice. Upstairs rooms suitable for 2 couples traveling toge...
