Inn at Rostay is great for ski vacations, as well as a summer road trip. Beautifully maintained motel with warm reception for guests. Hot tub on grounds, small quilt shop attached as the owner is a major player in the local Quilt Society. Very pleasant experience! We would book this again.

We (couple in our late 20's) stayed at this cute inn/motel for only one night while skiing at Sunday River. Overall, for the money, it was excellent.

Location: An easy 4 miles drive from Sunday River and right around places to eat.

Place: It was a motel with a B&B feel. We checked in and were greeted by a very, very, nice lady. There is a full breakfast available in the morning for $7 USD a person in a very nice dining area. Since it was a motel set-up, we drove right up to our room, which after a full day of skiing, was very nice not to have to carry bags for a long distance.

Room: We were assigned Room 21 (the website has pictures of all the rooms). It was very, very, clean. The room had a couch, table with 3 chairs, a TV, VCR, and a microwave. The bed was very comfortable.

Bathroom: Clean and functional. Excellent shower pressure and no issues with the temperature of the water.

There is an outdoor hot tub as well and laundry facilities (great for drying wet clothes from skiing).

Overall, I would highly recommend this place for an inexpensive but highly clean and functional place to stay while visiting the area.

We have stayed at the Rostay several times and have never been disappointed. The rooms are personally decorated with handmade quilts and each room has a theme to them. There is a dog room, fishing room, bear room etc.. Their breakfasts are great. There is also a wonderul hot tub to enjoy after a day snowmobiling or skiing. We highly recommend the Inn at the Rostay and would definitely stay there again. It is also very close to Sunday River Ski area. They also recommended nice restaurants in the area. You can even see the Top of Mount Washington from there!

The Inn is more like a motel than an Inn. The room was clean and the motel was on the highway in Bethel, Maine as we were traveling to New Hampshire. There was a problem with the heating system - it was cold in the room, and temperature outside was in the 30's, so we called the owner just before 11:00 p.m. (Their information sheet stated we could call before 11:00 p.m.) He came to our room very angry and stated we got him out of bed and wanted to know if we would like it if he called us early in the morning to wake us up. Then he slammed the door and left. It was very unsettleing for us. We had intended to eat breakfast there but sure didn't feel comfortable with that idea. We've never experience such a rude person before.

  • Liked — location for our travels
