“A new Bistro!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

In late December, the Sudbury opened up a new Bistro in the upstairs dining area and it's terrific! A varied but smaller menu, choice of portion size on many items, reasonable price, usual Sudbury efficient and friendly service. Pate, butterfly shrimp, phyllo cheese tidbits, delicious selection of meats and local veggies, great on-tap beers. I HIGHLY recommend! It opens around 3 PM, seating is somewhat limited, but they allow you to move around and you can be seated in the regular dining room if there is an overflow. Perfect for Bethel.

“Quiet more formal dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2012

This is the more spacious restaurant in the central vilage. It's a good place to go for a more intimate dinner.

Sudbury Inn is close walk to Austin's B&B. Laurence recommended and he was right. Service and food was very good.

“*sigh*”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

For years the Sudbury Inn has been our "go to" restaurant. Unfortunately, we may have to search for someplace new. The new management seems to be moving away from fine dining and toward something more casual (a "Deli Bomb" on the menu?!). The menu is now much smaller, gone are the roast duck and beef tournedo and in their place is filet mignon stuffed with lobster.
The food continues to be well prepared and the service is good, but the quality of the ingredients seems to have slipped. We have been back twice since the restaurant reopened and I have had steak twice. Both times, although prepared as well as ever, the meat was tough. Obviously the management is trying to cut some corners.
The addition of glass tabletops instead of tablecloths is a tacky touch as well.

“Really Really Really Good Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012

We had dinner in the dining room one night during our week long stay in Bethel. We were torn between the "fancier" dining room and the pub. I'm glad we chose the dining room. The food here is sooo very good. Service was excellent. We started with the lobster dip, the flavors are great. We took about half of the dip with us and it warmed up great the next day. For my entree I had the mushroom lasagna. OMG, it was to die for. It was creamy and crispy, it was so savory. The flavors perfectly blended, but it's nothing like lasagna, not sure why it's called that. Doesn't really matter what it's called I just called it delicious. My husband had the beef imperial. He was a happy man! We ended the night with a puff pasty with chocolate sauce.
