We had dinner in the dining room one night during our week long stay in Bethel. We were torn between the "fancier" dining room and the pub. I'm glad we chose the dining room. The food here is sooo very good. Service was excellent. We started with the lobster dip, the flavors are great. We took about half of the dip with us and it warmed up great the next day. For my entree I had the mushroom lasagna. OMG, it was to die for. It was creamy and crispy, it was so savory. The flavors perfectly blended, but it's nothing like lasagna, not sure why it's called that. Doesn't really matter what it's called I just called it delicious. My husband had the beef imperial. He was a happy man! We ended the night with a puff pasty with chocolate sauce.

We found this place while traveling through Maine to Acadia. Great room with comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast, and good service. Our room was on the front side -main road so it was a bit noisy when the windows were opened.

We loved the breakfast we had here so much we made the trip into town again that evening to enjoy their PUB in the basement and live music without a cover charge. Had a great time and lots of friendly, helpful locals.

A visit to Bethel Maine must include a stop at the Sudbury Inn where you have the choice of fine dining in the upstairs restaurant or casual pub fare with a flair in the lower level Suds Pub. We've been going to Bethel for many years and were thrilled that the Sudbury Inn offered a great deal for the restaurant on Tuesdays and Thursdays of $55 per couple for a 3 course meal with a choice of appetizer, entree and dessert ( which is really 4 courses because they also give you a salad). The deal is $65 with a bottle of wine. There are several wine varities to choose from, they werent trying to get rid of old stock. We like to share our food and sample different things so we ordered the escargot, french onion soup to start, followed by entrees of steak au provide and veal piccata, finishing with creme brûlée and chocolate walnut pie. The food was flawless and rivals any top shelf restaurant in Portland or boston. The regular menu is also available. Suds Pub has an extensive collection of craft beers and also a good selection of wines. You can even get the house wine by carafe. We love the oversized salads. Spinach and Cobbs are our favorites. Homemade dressing and real bacon are pluses. The mussel appetizer is not to be missed with a white wine, garlic and tomatoa broth that is soaked up with the Inn's outrageous rolls which are more like a dense popover. Pizzas are great for sharing and you can also order from the dining room menu if they are serving upstairs. For the values, the quality and the customer service, the Sudbury Inn has it all.

We can't say enough about the wonderful, tasty meal that we enjoyed this evening. The mussels were superb along with the homemade rolls for dipping in the sauce. Our entrees (lamb chops and filet ) were done to perfection. Our servers were helpful and very efficient. We will return!!!!!
