“Clean, classy and delicious!”
Reviewed February 6, 2013

We were looking for a place to take our daughter and boyfriend out for dinner and watch the Bruins game. It seemed the more reviews we read the more confused we became. Well there was no confusion in going to the Black Diamond Steak House! We had an amazing dinner experience there. Our dinners from the crispy chicken wings, to the oh so fresh salads to the great steaks...absolutely great! Our waitress was prompt and knowledgeable. After dinner, though the pub was closed, we were invited to sit at the bar and watch the game. The bartender was engaging and so nice to talk with. My husband and daughters BF were invited to see the kitchen and were amazed at the cleanliness of the area. They said it was the cleanest kitchen they had ever seen. Decor is light and fun! So close to the mountain. enjoy.....we will return here!

“Cute place but frozen fries”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

There is always a grain of salt when eating at a ski resort. And honestly- I don't expect fine dining anytime or anywhere near the slopes. We went to this restaurant with other average reviews knowing what we were in for- and we were still a bit shocked. The place was busy, sat night , but it's not a giant place- I need to admit I have spent many years waiting tables etc so I maybe know too much - but the waittresss we had was simply either just inexperienced or just not great. She was nice but had perfected the art of managing to totally ignore us while mere inches away. I've done it-I know when it's being done to me. That's not s big problem except we are sitting there with 3 empty cocktails and no bread and all in all- ignored in a place half full. Ok- so the service was not good. But it's a ski place so deal with it. Then the food came. One of us had a chicken Caesar salad that she loved-then a burger and a filet were also ordered followed with sides of house cut frie... ( they were out of sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes )- ok- so that was when the giggles began- house cut fries? No. Sysco foods krinkle cut fries- or maybe mccanns. The kind of fries the public swimming pool has with the hot dog special. Come on. The other side was a sad little medley of corn, carrots and peas that I serve to my 8 year old regularly. Birdsong steamed veggies. It was absurd. My point is- you get tons of leeway at a ski place- no one is looking for Ruth's Chris or Morton's, but at least buy the hand cut fries from the Sysco and not the obvious out of the bag ones. They were comical. Less comical was that they were served with an extremely average filet for $26 bucks. We had much better Fries at the food courts at the resort at lunch and the burger was - well- not good at all. Come on! You have a crowd at your beck and call so be smart and don't buy that crap from the food service because guess what? It is obvious. And it makes your cute restaurant a cheap diner that is way overpriced. And just train the waitstaff a little more- or at all. No one should ever have to repeatedly ask for bread ( and water) and drink Refills and even to light the candle ( fake little thing from food service like a tiny pot of oil- sad really). Really the only positive thing was the Caesar salad, the nice owner when we arrived- or manager? And then the decor- oh except we are at a nice steakhouse having a 26 dollar steak and there's no music- just a football game on at loud volume. Fail. If I wanted to eat out of the bag fries and get my own drinks and watch the game I'd stay in the condo. Come on- Ditch the food service and be a steakhouse. Or just go ahead and be a diner. Pick one. Skip it unless you really can't eat at home for some other reason!

Waitstaff very friendly.

Food was aweful. Prime rib full of fat and potatoes were warm not hot. Vegetables were peas and carrots... Uuuggghhhh

Expected a lot more from a steak house!

Will not return!!

“Still working out the bugs....hope to try again”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Went for breakfast with the family only one other table in there.
It took 35 minutes to get our orders of eggs and waffles out????
Not sure what was going on in the kitchen. First waffle delivered burnt, second one good however took another 15 minutes.
Hope to try again and see if the kitchen is in better order..

“Great Food”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We had 2 lunches and 1 breakfast here. For lunch, we had Ronnie as our Server, for breakfast we had Meghen. Both r good servers. Food tasted great, ambiance nice, and the fact that we were there IN-BETWEEN summer/ski season, made it all the better as there were very few folks there during our visits, making it very enjoyable without the noise from crowds.
