I love this Inn! Woody and Lee have found the secret formula! Comfort, cleanliness, amazing food, awesome drinks and and wonderful energy oozing from every nook and cranny! As soon as I entered the Inn I felt like I had come home - most welcoming. My only regret is that I could only stay one night but it was a wonderfully peaceful night. Do yourself a favor and try the Mill Hill Inn. Woody, Lee & Aaron - I can't thank you guys enough. See you soon!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mill Hill. The inn is comfortable and charming, and it is close to area recreation venues as well as the main street of Bethel. Woody went out of his way to accommodate our needs, and we sincerely appreciated his hospitality. We would definitely stay at the Mill Hill again.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Mill Hill Inn this past Sunday. A family member booked the room for the 3 of us, so we really did not know what to expect. From the moment we pulled in I knew it would be a great stay. We were greeted by Woody, the inn keeper. He showed us to our wonderful, and very spacious room, which was a suite with a king size bed and loft. There was more than enough room for the 3 of us. The room was beautiful. The beds were as comfortable as being in my own bed. I felt at home, which is how the inn is run. It was like being at a friend’s house for the night. We were there for a sort of mini family reunion. Woody served us yummy apps in the great room as we chatted at our leisure sipping good beer. The beer selection was a welcome surprise. When we were ready (we were not rushed, at all) we dined on a variety of tapas (barefoot) and ended the dinner with a variety of desserts. I recommend the stuffed turnover. After a great night sleep breakfast was served family style. Everything about the stay was wonderful. I travel a lot and the inn is overall one of the best places I have ever rested my head. To top it all off, Woody is an established potter, and all the meals are served off his creations. I look forward to returning to this little slice of heaven.

We highly recommend Mill Hill Inn. First, Woody and Lee are hospitable and friendly, ready to give time to a nice chat. Next our room was spacious and the king sized bed very comfortable. When we inquired of Lee about dinner she said "you will be pleasantly surprised what Woody can do in the kitchen." Right on! He provided us with a delicious tapas of asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and then a perfect slightly underdone (as requested) salmon filet, nicely sauced. The recommended chardonnay was excellent. Thus a retired art teacher from nearby Gould Academy (where Lee still teaches) and a fine potter (his work is exhibited in the hall and is used in the dining room) is a master chef and an artful stacker of firewood! A man of many parts. The cost of all this? Exceptionally reasonable. Bob and Juliet

We loved absolutely everything about The Mill Hill Inn! Located right in the center of Bethel, the inn is a far better value than other places in the area that are twice the price! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, full of color and character. The food is amazing... I can not begin to describe how delicious it is! Woody, the innkeeper, is gentle, kind and service-oriented. He is a local potter and VERY talented. The free breakfast is a nice bonus. There are wines from all over the world and an eclectic mix of beers from all over, as well. The beds were comfy & the room was IMMACULATE. This is the kind of place your family will fall in love with! I went with my husband and the peaceful, unhurried nature was exactly what we needed. We recommend it to everyone!!!!

Room Tip: Room #5 is newly renovated and very comfortable, but all the rooms are wonderful!

What a pleasant surprise. Found the inn using this site. When we arrived we were really impressed. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and comfortable. The inn itself was well run and Woody, the inn keeper, was very personable. Breakfast was delicious and although we didn't stay for dinner we heard from many people that it was worth sticking around for. Woody, a potter, also had many of his pieces on display and for sale. Really nice stuff.
The inn's very close to Sunday River and has a shuttle that picks up at the end of the drive. Overall, it's a great place and I would highly recommend it.

We had an amazing stay at The Mill Hill Inn! Last minute before February vacation we were fortunate enough to find availability at the Inn and what a find! We love finding funky little places and as soon as we entered the front door we felt immediatly at home. This place oozes rustic charm peppered with an eclectic and artistic flair. Woody was able to accomodate us even though he had full bookings. We stayed in the largest suite which is accually an apartment (approx. 1000 sq ft) with a full kitchen, large bath & 3 bedrooms. Everything was imacculate, the queen bed was super comfy and the suite could have accomodated at least a dozen - we were a party of 5. Flying solo that week (wife and child went on vaca), Woody (artists by trade) not only tended to a full Inn, but catered as head chef and chief bottle washer along side his equally heralded staff (family). Like the bar, the food is top shelf and only the best is served as small plates which is great for sampling and sharing. We were also lavished with nitely entertainment in the form of local singer/song writers, shakespearean comdey and poetry. Truly a great place to stay and experience - owned and operated by great people.
