Owner description: A popular and scenic walking/hiking trail.

I found this to be a strenuous hike. I only did the section to North Ledges. It is pretty much straight up- 600 feet elevation climb- no switchbacks. I met some locals on the trail and they said the original trail creator "didn't believe in switchbacks". However, it is worth it for the view. I went up and down in less than an hour- the brochure said 1.5 hours. If I had the time I would have done the loop to the South Cliff- which you can do on it's own as well. If you geo-cache, there is one up there.

We love this trail - which is just a ten minute drive from downtown Bethel. Do the loop hike to the right - going up the North Ledges and down the south cliffs. Take a walking stick or hiking poles! The views from the top are spectacular in any season. We hike there at least three times a year - in every season but Spring!

My wife and I hiked in sneakers... Would have been nice to have hiking boots. It had some steep portions that made the hike challenging at times. The total hike was just under 2.5 hours. Highly recommend the trail, just follow the Blue Blazer makers on the trees and you will not get lost. We went on September 2, 2011... I hope to hike it again in the fall when the leaves turn. The entrance to the trail is right across from the recycle center.
