We have been skiing at Sunday River every year for the past 10 years with our two boys, now teenagers. We spend a week skiing here during school vacation. The ski conditions never disappoint. More peaks and more trails to choose from - varied terrain for all level skiers. Great for both skiers and snowboarders. Tubing is also fun at night. There is always plenty of snow and the conditions are always good. There is plenty of free parking. As with most ski areas these days, the lift ticket prices are ridiculously high but with Sunday River's lift system, there are virtually no lines, no waiting, and plenty of ski runs. There are several lodges and they are typical - noisy, crowded, and the prices of the food are astronomical for poor quality food. We have used the ski school in the past and the instructors are excellent! The staff on the mountain are also great - friendly and helpful. The staff in the rental shop and ski shops are also very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The one area that definitely needs improvement at Sunday River is at the front desk. The front desk staff, where you pick up lift tickets, are consistently rude and unhelpful. They are slow, inefficient, and have no personalities at all. And don't bother asking them any questions, they can't be bothered to answer them!

Large New England ski resort. Plenty of variety to explore if staying for a few days. South Ridge Lodge was not crowded on the Monday and Tuesday we were there. Good lift capacity with triples, quads, and a six passenger mixed chair and gondola. Never waited more than a minute for a lift....we usually had no lift line at all. Conditions were well groomed packed powder. Very little ice. Fairly easy to get from one mountain peak to another. We often had long sections of cruising slopes to ourselves. No hassle finding a table at lunch time. We were able to park close to the Lodge. I'm told that parking and lodge crowds are much different on weekends. Frequent Skier Cards were a $$ saver and pay for themselves on the 2nd weekday of use. Friendly staff throughout. We will probably go back next year.

We had never been up to ski in Maine always Stowe or Killington. We went for Maine for a different experiences, and landed in SUnday River. We loved the ski resort, everyone is very nice, lots of trails, own snowmaking, and NO LONG LINES. I was even surprised that at points I was the only person on the trail on a long weekend! I would definately recommend skiing in Sunday River!
