We tried going to a tasting at Marshall Wharf next door but unfortunately they had already closed for the day but we made our way over to the brewery's restaurant, Three Tides"...It is a rustic small bar, with some booths overlooking the water....hardboiled eggs are served complimentary up at the bar instead of peanuts. My husband is quite the beer connoisseur and enjoyed a fleet from their 17 beer choices on tap....Great find in Belfast!

We didn't eat here but sat looking over the bay and enjoyed a few drinks. The place is pretty funky; we had a wonderful evening laughing, people watching and relaxing. We would definitely go back...maybe even eat next time!

Drinks are excellent, 3 Tides is an offshoot of the brewery next door. The beers we tasted were all very, very good, and none had the flavor bomb or thin finish many new world beers suffer. A cocktail was well made. The kitchen is small and the menu is not full plate meals but more tapas-like, such as oysters or mussels in broth. We had a lovely table overlooking the water. Another option for drinkers is the outdoor pub area on the ground floor. Service was also impeccable. If we lived in Belfast we would absolutely be regulars.

I made a mistake by giving my review of three tides to another restaurant. This place has the great Cant Dog ale (a cant dog being a long pole with a steel point on one end with a hinged hook for moving logs around.)

Three Tides is the pub for Marshall Wharf Brewing Co., which is located next door.My wife and I visited Three Tides in May 2012. It is located in a gray building along Belfast's small waterfront. The signage is not that prominent, and the banner type sign it does have does not face directly towards the parking lot, so it takes a little looking to find.

First and foremost, three tides is the bar for Marshall Wharf Brewing Co., which is a good thing. When we were there, Three Tides had about 20 of Marshall Wharf's beers on tap, that's right 20 or so of it's own beers on tap, and they are very good beers. The beers on tap are listed on a chalkboard behind the bar. The staff are more than happy to describe the individual beers for you. Try a tasting paddle if you do not know what you will like.

Three Tides does serve food, but we went for the beer, and had dinner elsewhere, not because the food didn't look good, but because we wanted to experience as much of Belfast as we could during our short stay.

Three Tides has a limited number of tables, so you may want to get there early or make a reservation. When we went in May, before tourist season was in full swing, we couldn't get a table when we arrived, but sat at the bar. Three Tides does have an outdoor patio.
