Bakery products consistently of good quality, creative recipes. Breakfast (no meats) quite good. Much used by Belfast locals and summer folks so a wait for a table in the restaurant may be needed. During the summer vegetables, fruits and flowers from their farm are sold on certain days of the week: what a treat it is to shop in their fresh market in back of the bakery. Evening meals are quite good, I hear, but I've only been there for breakfast.

We have visited Chases four times, each time the service gets worse and worse. One day we waited 45 minutes at the table to order, then half an hour to get served - good food isn't worth that kind of waiting. The food has always been good, but when you need to wait an hour+ to eat it, it kind of looses its appeal. They need more cooks, and they CERTAINLY need more waiters. These four visits were over a year's time. I think this restaurant is running on its past reputation, when it was new, and tried harder. Disappointing experience. That said, a cup of coffee BEFORE they service lunch is a nice experience - you serve yourself, and you don't burden the waiters or cooks.

We had lunch on a weekday and the place was full. Very interesting space and really fresh food. We ordered the soup of the day which was a white bean and vegetable and then the grilled cheese and carrot salad. Everything was very fresh and delicious. Would definitely come back and recommend.
