“"Shipshape and Bristol Fashion"”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

"She's shipshape and Bristol fashion" was a seafarer's high compliment about a ship in the days of sail and certainly fits Packard House. Just couldn't have been a better respite after nine hours driving.Beautifully maintained, with a welcoming garden patio full of subtle and delightful touches. Amy and Mark were terrific hosts and breakfast was scrumptious, featuring home baked breads and Amy's delicious granola. Amy's recommendation of restaurant JR Maxwell's for dinner was a winner.

there's two reasons Packard House is number 1....Amy & Mark....
there's such love & caring, combined with Amy's exquisite taste & extraordinary culinary skills,
and their two bergamasco sheep dogs which simply set this B&B apart from all the rest.....
the house has great bones & is tenderly & thoughtfully cared for.
i spent this summer travelling & staying in B&Bs throughout maine & massachusetts, and this was, indeed, the creme de la creme!

We found this wonderful B&B through Tripadvisor and the reviews really lived up to our expectations. Amy and Mark own a beautiful house in a very quiet road, but within walking distance of the quaint almost English looking town with many nice restaurants. The rooms were spotless and the the whole house is decorated to an exceptionally high standard. Afternoon tea with homemade cakes and cookies were on offer upon our arrival; all of which were delicious. We had a lovely night's sleep followed by a wonderful home cooked breakfast and good conversation with the other guests. Our stay was worth every penny as the attention to detail made all the difference.

Room Tip: We chose the Niagara room which had a nice view of the other lovely houses in the quiet road. The ba...

We happened upon Bath and are so glad we did! This historic-house B&B was fantastic: very lovely, extremely quiet (it's located on a peaceful back street of Bath, yet is only a 5-minute walk to the center), and elegant/tasteful rather than kitschy as so many B&Bs unfortunately are... Our fantastic hostess, Amy, was never in the least intrusive, yet always kind and helpful; and she made us a delicious home-cooked breakfast (goat cheese & asparagus quiche with herbs from her garden, fresh blueberries, raspberry coffee cake...) and let us play with her two adorable dogs in her beautiful back garden. We plan to return to Bath, Maine from Italy just in order to stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Amy!

This B&B is meticulous, every public space, the garden/patio space, and the room. Décor is very interesting, eclectic, lovely. There are just 4 bedrooms so crowding anywhere does not happen. The breakfast room could seat all guests at once, or if different breakfast times are chosen, each separately. We stayed in the Downeaster, a one night stop on our trip to Lubec. The room is the smallest with just one chair, but the downstairs sitting rooms and outdoor patio allow comfortable seating. The bath is spacious. Tea was served at 4:30 with light snacks. A pitcher of ice water awaited when we returned from dinner, just down the street at the Kennebec Grille. Breakfast was wonderful. Homemade granola and blueberry lemon scones were delicious, and cooked to order French toast special. Amy was a very nice host. We spent part of our morning in the patio, reading newspapers, before hitting the road. Highly recommend.

We have stayed in lots of B&B's, and this one is a stand out. The owners, Amy and Mark are friendly and personable, but extremely professional. The house is beautifully restored and creatively decorated and furnished with lots of antiques and interesting pieces. It is SPOTLESS! The breakfast was homemade and delicious, and the service was comparable to a five star hotel. The Maritime Museum is a great place to visit while in Bath. We highly recommend this B&B!

recently stayed for 3 nights at this wonderful b&b in a wonderful part of the world. the innkeepers, amy and mark, are knowledgeable and extremely amiable, as are their two rare breed pups. the breakfasts are all homemade, including the granola, and are beyond yummy. the rooms are lovely and all of the shampoos, conditioners, and lotions are eco friendly. bath is a delightful community...quintessentially new england. you'd be hard put to find a nicer place to stay in mid-coast maine.

Green Features: as i mentioned in my overall review, all of the products in the rooms are totally eco-friendly.
