“Pure Bliss at Ann's Point Inn!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2011

The hubs and I stayed in the Eagle's Nest for 3 nights in late September on our Boston-Maine trip. It was by far the best place we have ever stayed. To give some context, the hubs and I are in our early 30s, professionals, and enjoy luxury relaxation over bustling nightlife. We also enjoy B&Bs to meet other guests and relax.

Jeannette & Alan (owners) have truly thought of everything...from cookies in the afternoon, to snacks/water/soda available at all times, to a black towel labeled "makeup" (genius, really), to daily wine/cheese events before you head out for dinner. Their property is beautifully poised on the point, well-appointed, and if the weather cooperates, breakfast can be served al fresco. Speaking of breakfast, multi-courses, scrumptious scones, fancy eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffees, variety of juices...some of the best B&B breakfasts we have ever enjoyed!

The owners are full of local information for restaurants, hikes, nearby attractions. It was exactly what we needed to take a break from our hiking in Acadia (the hot tub was perfect!) and the hustle & bustle of Bar Harbor. We would return to Bass Harbor in an instant, and undoubtedly to Ann's Point again. Go--you won't be disappointed. Pinky swear.

Room Tip: Eagles Nest was amazing, although I doubt you could go wrong with any room in the inn. Pure delight...

The Mallard’s Haven room was beautiful and romantic as advertised. The room itself was comfortable and inviting and the Jacuzzi tub and showers were a nice addition. We did not use the amenities such as the pool or sauna, but during our tour of the resort from Alan they looked amazing. Jeanette and Alan were very friendly and kind. Jeanette helped me surprise my wife on the trip by getting together a beautiful arrangement of roses and a bottle of champagne. I can’t wait to visit Acadia again and stay at Ann’s Point

Room Tip: The Mallard's Haven room is a romatic getaway with a small private patio overlooking the harbor.

Am just re-iterating everything everyone has already said about Ann's Point Inn in Bass Harbor. The setting is spectacular, accommodations wtih every detail attended to, inventive and delicious breakfasts, best chocolate chip cookies (prepared for late night snacking), gracious and knowledgeable innkeepers. Ann's Point is a bit off the beaten track of MDI, but worth a little extra drive time. Alan and Jeannette know the area well and can direct you to wonderful trails, activities, artists, restaurants. What a wonderful place to return to after a day of hiking or biking or whatever. Total relaxation. Don't forget your bathing suit!

We spent six nights at Ann's Point Inn for our first visit to MDI and Acadia National Park. There cannot be a better base of operations for enjoying the area. The individual rooms are luxurious, the common areas include a pool, hot tub, and sauna as well as a library of information about the area, the inn is on a beautiful spot overlooking the harbor, daily breakfast was a gourmet treat, and the afternoon 'happy hour' is a great chance to sample the local wines with carefully considered accompanying cheeses. That's only half the story, however -- what makes the place really special are the innkeepers, who really make you feel welcome and comfortable, provide great conversation, and are happy to help their guests figure out how to take best advantage of the area (which bike loops to ride, where to hike, restaurant recommendations, which kayak tour to take, etc.). The inn is on the "quiet side" of MDI, so you are away from the Bar Harbor crowds but can get easily get anywhere on the island. Highly and enthusiastically recommended....

My wife and I loved this beautiful bayside inn adjacent to Acadia National Park. What an escape! Jeannette and Alan Feuer are wonderful, genial hosts. Jeannette's breakfasts are creative and satisfying, and Alan hosts a fine wine-hour at 5 p.m. each afternoon. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed, the beds are comfortable and the views out of huge windows are spectacular. Yes, a lot of superlatives! If you're looking for resort-style shopping, bars, restaurants and entertainment within walking distance, this isn't the place. But it can't be beat as a peaceful retreat just a short distance away from fine restaurants, sailing, bicycling and hiking. In fact, Alan was well-equipped with suggestions that helped us enjoy the best of Mt. Desert Island. The inn has an indoor pool, although we didn't use it. We WILL go back.

Room Tip: Ask for the Eagle's Nest room!

We feel so fortunate to have found this gem of an inn near Acadia National Park. The innkeepers here have thought of everything to make for a comfortable stay, from guide books to umbrellas to an in-room clothes dryer for when you come back from a hike soaking wet.

The facilities are amazing, too. Even if it rains all day, you're covered with an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna, or hundreds of movies on DVD. We hope to return here some day.

We stayed for 5 nights at Ann's Point. Alan and Jeanette were incredible hosts! The breakfasts were so delicious (organic, homemade, and well presented). They were always ready for pleasant conversation about our days travels. The wine and cheese was a lovely afternoon offering...and the homemade cookies every night at the bedside gave us that wonderful feeling of home. The facility is immaculate and the grounds are perfectly groomed. I also love the fact that they are "responsibly green". I highly recommend Ann's Point. They are not in the mainstream of Bar Harbor (which is only a 15 minute drive). They are in a working harbor, on the water. So worth the trip to stay there!
