“Overpriced and in need of serious renovations...”
Reviewed July 23, 2010

We stayed here one night on our way through Bangor. I was very disappointed in the the quality of the room and cleanliness. We paid $125 CDN for this room through Expedia, which was the cheapest rate we could find at the time. For that price, I expected the room to be clean --- it wasn't. There was dust in all the corners and my son and my allerigies were bothering us all night due to dust. There was serious mold in the shower and the fixtures were coming out of the walls. Upon reading previous reviews, I assume that some of the hotel has been renovated and other parts have not been so ask for a renovated room. The hallways were also disgustingly dirty. I cannot believe this is a Ramada. The pool was o.k., and the kids did enjoy that.
We have been on a two week vacation and stayed in many hotels over the two weeks -- this one was by far the worst and we paid the more than some of the nicer hotels we stayed in! There are alot of hotels in the area -- I would look elseswhere or make sure you have a room in the renovated part of the hotel.

The lobby was very welcoming and the front desk person very friendly. The room seemed newly renovated and large. The Hotel is close by the airport, which was a big, plus for us. They provided a shuttle service to area attractions at no cost. The nightclub was a big surprise not thinking that we would find that atmosphere in Maine. The restaurant was excellent. Great Value, Great Food, Great Service.

Nothing was bad about the Ramada, the room was fine for one night, don't expect anything other than a very basic room though. It provided a decent night's sleep and was very affordable. If you're looking for something more than that I'd suggest somewhere else.

The restaurant attached had a nice breakfast and nice staff. The free wifi, printer and computer was also nice when I had to change some documents at the last minute for a meeting.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. Clerk at check in was down right rude and obnoxious. We had coupons that we found in a travel book and she refused to accept them, saying they were for "walk in's only". HELLO? I walked in! Yet customers in front of us used them. We were charged $50 more than them! There is no elevator and our room was on the 2nd floor. Advice - if you are staying here don't spend the weekend. The hotel bar is extremely roudy - fights in the parking lot and the restrooms on the first floor of the hotel were closed both Sat and Sun am for cleaning as there was vomit all over the place because of the night club. And if you stay, don't stay overlooking the parking lot as you'll be up all night long with the locals hanging out in the parking lot screaming at all hours of the night. Cops arrived one night and arrested 6 people under our window because of fights. Rooms were disgustingly dirty. This should not be a Ramada and have complained to national headquarters. This is a 1 star hotel if that. Will NEVER stay here again EVER! ..... on and the breakfast at the restaurant was horrible, along with the service - waitress had a nasty cold and kept sneezing in her hand before passing plates. Disgusting!!!

This is an older location. I have to agree with the woman who mentioned the reeking smoke smell. Good thing it doesn't bother me, but others I travel with would have objected. Service was fine. Had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated for breakfast and found out many staff had called out. Very nice service from Polly. She also served as the coordinator of the presentation room I used. Very attentive. The group to whom I was presenting had been here a week previously and had had the buffet lunch. This time the numbers precluded our doing that and we ordered off the menu. Much better! Good food for a Ramada. Location is good if you use the airport. It is also convenient for folks who drive here. Only concern was sound of airplanes in evening and morning. Comes with the territory, and as long as you expect it, am sure you'll be happy. Place is huge. Who needs a gym? Just walk from room to lobby/restaurant. Almost needed track shoes. Not a complaint; just an observation. Wish they'd do something about the smoke smell (Open a window or two?) Have stayed at Holiday Inn in Bangor (see review of it); this is MUCH better.

Much too noisy when their bar is open Wednesday thru Saturday. Bar patrons do not finish leaving til 1:30AM or later - unable to sleep it is so loud. Housekeeping staff is very good.

met family. we had 3 rooms. Mine was nasty dirty. Bed looked like the sheets were just pulled up, not changed . Someone had been on the bed before I arrived. My Sisters room had a cigarette butt on rug and condom wrapper under bed. Put condom wrapper in nieces bed. Maid just pulled up cover over it. We stayed across the street on return trip.
