I have stayed at this location many times in the last eight years when traveling north to our cottage in Prince Edward Island. Pets are welcome & the pet fee is not exorbitant. I have had consistently good service from the front desk, the rooms have always been clean, & the nights have been restful. Nothing fancy, just good basics. The location is excellent, right off the highway & though close to the airport, airport noise is not a problem. Tim Horton's, a large Irving quick stop & Ground Round are all walking distance. There is a large area for dog walking.

We were passing through Bangor and decided to stop. Although it was only 2 pm, the first couple of motels we stopped at were already full. We were able to get a room at the Econolodge for 80 dollars. The hotel had a good pool . The only problem with the pool was that the deep end was only chest deep. But the warmth of the water made up for that. The room we had was very small. It had a table and chairs, fridge, microwave. The bed was very comfortable. There just was not a lot of room to move around. But as we were only there for one night, it was no big deal. The most annoying thing about the room was the design of the bathroom area. The toilet was so low that it was almost child height and it was in a tiny little tub room. The sink was outside but the sink had no vanity space around it, so you had to place your cleansers, etc on the floor. The hotel had a good breakfast. We were asking the front desk how to find a certain place and they gave us a handout that had detailed directions to all the different shopping/eating places. It was so handy!!
We were very glad that we stayed there as we had a great sleep and didn't hear a sound. The size of the room and the tiny, poorly designed bathroom area kept us from staying there when we passed back through the area a couple of weeks later. But we would consider staying there again if the price was right. Hotels in that area of Bangor seem to fill up very early so you really should book ahead.

We tried to book a room here on Aug. 20/10. We had arrived in Bangor around dinner time and needed a room for 1 night. All of the other motels on the same street (Odlin Rd.) were full and Econo was our final try. They were also booked which was not a problem. The problem came when I asked the desk clerk if she could recommend somewhere else in Bangor. She stared at me blankly and said no, she didn't know of anywhere else. Really? Isn't that part of the job, to know alternatives? We had NOTHING and she didn't seem to care. Thank God for our GPS which gave us several other great choices.

We just needed somewhere to sleep on our cross country tour. It was late, dark and rainy heavily when we made it in to Bangor. Our first choice was booked so we crossed to the EconoLodge. Front desk moderately helpful if not somewhat bored. Our room was on the second floor - fine. It was actually a wheelchair access room which was also fine (we did not need wheelchairs though). First thing I needed was the laptop plugged in. My husband looked behind the console between the beds and right there was a pile of chicken bones, chicken fat and apple cores. It really was gross. Back downstairs, told the front desk who asked "Really?" (irritating). Were given a new room. Saw the GM's door open the next morning so explained the situation and he offered to take $25 off our bill. The room we were moved to was more expensive than Chicken Bone Room so we asked if we could have the more expensive room at the cheaper rate and THEN the discount and he agreed. He was all very obliging but still...when housekeeping miss a pile of chicken bones, fat and apple cores that took us about 45 seconds to find, it makes you wonder how clean the place really is.

I liked the fact that the staff at the check in counter was friendly and pleasant and was willing to do what they can to make my stay a pleasant one. The room was clean, including towels and bathroom. The heater and air conditioner was working. I needed a late check out and appreciated very much the staff cooperation in this matter. The staff at the breakfast room was also very helpful and did not made you feel uncomfortable.

I agree with J_B09 but for $35 more you can stay at the Comfort Inn just a short drive north on I95 just off the exit. I frequent Choice Hotels because the points I earn on my Visa card. Choice Hotels rates this with a Gold Award, that's the reason I chose it. Plus it was 10,000 points verses 16,000 for the Comfort Inn. The Gold Award represents the top 10% of hotels within each choice group. The bath room was 5' x 5' with the tub and toilet. The lavatory was out side the bathroom door and was a 30" x 22" Formica top with a drop in bowl. No place for toiletries. If you are on a very tight budgets this is O.K.

For the price and location, this motel was pretty good. The location is convenient to the highway and the room was clean and comfortable. In addition to free breakfast (which I did not utilize), the room had a mini-fridge and microwave that were clean and functional. Basic TV, wifi, and free parking were also provided, which I have pretty much come to expect. All I needed was a place to clean up and unwind at the end of a long day of physical outdoor work, so this place fit the bill. If I were on vacation, I would have different standards, but for what I needed it was good.
