Brought my Granddaughter on a rainy day. Tons to see and do but many electrical powered displays not working with no apparent plan to repair. Alot of scratched walls that need repair and paint. Fortunately , my Granddaughter is not even 2 and doesn't understand unsatisfactory service. She did have a blast with displays that were working.

Wasn't sure what to expect, but it's much bigger than you might expect. Great price and very interesting exhibits.

I love this museum! I've been taking my grand baby here since he was 4 months old! He just adored splashing with the boats in the ever running 'river'!

And as he grew we explored more and more!
It was fun to watch him enjoy the loud noises he could make that once brought him to tears... a truly growing place with so much to see and do!

During our stay in Bar Harbor, we knew that our kids needed a change of pace from the national park. So we read the TripAdvisor reviews for this museum and drove up here for a day trip.

They loved it, from being able to climb up a multi-story tree fort to the water dam. My 2.5-year-old loved the Goodnight Moon room and my 5-year-old son loved the cargo ship.

They enjoyed playing in the diner and doing the puppet show.

The price of $7.50 was reasonable and it was nice to be able to go out and have lunch and come back and play again.

This is a great children's museum. It's not huge and "science-y" like Indianapolis or St Louis, but I like that it is unique and totally geared toward Maine. There's a whole area dedicated to waterways and animals, another dedicated to children's storybooks (ride in Burt Dow's boat! hang in in the Good Night Moon room!), another area where kids can load and unload a cargo ship. There's climbing, crawling, puppets, and more. The prices are reasonable and they do exchanges if you have have a membership to another children's museum. They do a lot of craft stuff here too. Teens are usually too cool to enjoy this, but if you're looking for a great place to learn and explore, or spend a cold or rainy day, this is it!
