Stayed the previous night at the Motel 6 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and had an excellent experience. Very clean and nice, so on the way back to New Brunswick the next day called ahead to the Motel 6 in Bangor and booked a room. Bad idea, the Motel is old and very run down, stairs and hallways need a good cleaning and painting. The room smelled bad. I am sure the furniture had not been moved and cleaned or vaccumed behind for months. Bathroom was dark and tub need a good cleaning. There were dead bugs on the heater behind the table, carpet was flithy. Now I realize we did not pay big bucks ($51.99 tax in - senior rate), but just because the rooms are cheap doesn't justify the state of the motel. Would not stay at this Motel 6 again or recommend it to anyone.

We Pulled into Bangor Maine with a small dog so our places to stay were limited. Motel 6 allow's small dogs so we thought we were in luck. WRONG. if it wasn't so late & I didn't have a Dog and Two Kids . I would have slept in the car ha-ha.It would have been way cleaner. you'll see by the pictures I have. the place was a real dive and the tub I'm sure was never cleaned since installed, that probably is the same for the carpet.Avoid it at all cost .filthy behind t.v. and lots of dead bugs squished on the walls & celing . it's amazing where you'll stay when you have cranky kids in a car all day , lol.

We stayed here for a nights rest on the way to Acadia National Park. For a rate of $70 including tax it met our needs.

The motel is located just off I-95 and is about a 75 minute drive to Acadia and 5 mintues from downtown Bangor. The room was large with a fairly comfortable bed. The carpet was dirty however and our sink needed some work (we virtually needed a towel to open/close the facuct). The room had a tv, fridge and a/c that were in working condition. Our key didn't work upon arrival so the manager had to come and open with the master key.

Not a bad place to crash for a night if you are on a budget. Otherwise if you have an extended stay or don't have extremely high expectations the Motel 6 Bangor may be an acceptable place to stay...couldnt decide between two or three stars.

We stayed here while on our way to New Hampshire from Nova Scotia. It was CHEAP which made me nervous, but once we arrived we found a clean room and quiet. While it did get noisier in the morning as the traffic around the motel picked up, we were leaving early anyways. We usually stay the Super 8, but this was $35 cheaper per night, so I figure why not....and I was pleasantly surprised. While the motel needs a little maintenance (cracked door jams in bathroom), the interior is clean and the room was a fairly good size (Queen bed room). I will definetly stay here again, while the Super 8 would be my first choice, I would definetly take this if it were this cheap again!

This is a fairly old motel 6, the kind where you can park in front of you room. Location is 5 minutes away from downtown Bangor and a minute away from the transportation museum. It's a rectangular building perpendicular to the interstate. We had a room at the back so it was quiet. Carpet was old and stained other than that it was clean and comfortable, with a fridge and a microwave. The good thing is it was cheap of course ($40). Since there are few great lodging options in Bangor, this is perfect for one night for budget and value-conscious travelers.
