“Skip this "dog"”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Our hotel staff recommended eating here for our first night in Maine. It was a Saturday night, so we expected to have a wait and we surprised to be seating in about 15 minutes instead of the 30 we were told. And that concludes anything worthwhile about this place. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before a server said one word to us. Had to go back up to the hostess station to ask if anyone was going to wait on us. The server was extremely rude and uninterested in taking our order. Once it was placed, it took 1 hour and 25 minutes to get our food. Food was below average- had lobster that was undercooked and the smallest mussels I have ever seen. Food was bland. Couldn't get the check either and had to go back up to the hostess stand to ask for it. Did go to the bar and asked for a manager-bartender knew what table we were at and would send someone over-which of course didn't happen. As we were paying our bill at the hostess station, I told our waitress that this was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had, she replied "a lot of people say that."

“If you have time on your hands.....”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This is the third time I have visited this restaurant. We arrived at 645pm on Jul 31st, the pub was only half full. It took over 8 minutes to get a server after someone got up and asked the hostess were our was. All their servers where nice to our party of seven. We sat down at 645pm and were serve dinner at 750pm. Then we waited for our checks. The Blueberry beer was pretty good but, the service was bad. Not like there were busy, only 50% of the bar had people in it. No team work. Saw a lot of hostess standing around talking instead of helping others serve. Will not return.

“You gotta try the Hazelnut Porter!”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

..if you're of legal drinking age, of course. This was one of the first restaurants we visited when we were thinking about relocating to Maine. We liked it so much for lunch that we went back the next night for dinner. And we've been back a couple of times since actually moving up here.

The outdoor tables offer a nice view of the bridge and the river and it's not been too noisy out there even when most of the tables are full. The burgers are fantastic and the beer is delicious.

“Average but good view”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

The blackened haddock sandwich was pretty much tasteless. I had to add a lot of salt to get any flavor. The fries were a huge disappointment. Fake fries...taste like burger king. The onion soup was very good. I'd go back just for that. The two bartenders were way over worked and you had to stop them and ask if you wanted anything. I'd complain about them but they was working very hard, just not enough help. I would probably try this place again but I would NOT include those nasty imitation fries.
