This was our 2nd stay at Sea Escape Cottages. We spent a week this time, and well worth it, AGAIN! We love Bethany and her family. They make you feel as though you are right at home. Wood burning on the outdoor fire pit every night, heavenly sunrises (viewed right from bed!) and amazing sunsets! A place to sip your coffee and never want to leave!
Worth every penny spent on this vacation, to come in each night to the most wonderful cozy bed with "fall into a cloud" comforter & pillows!

This was my first long vacation in Maine. My husband choose the place and made the reservation, he had stayed here before. He warned me that I may not like it, no AC, not much to do, simple, not fancy, etc., etc. That's okay, it time alone with my husband, nothing else really matters, he's happy, right?

This vacation was wonderful. Les and Donna are very warm. The view is breath taking. The local food (most of it prepared by my husband) was fantastic. It was totally restful, with plenty of places to explore, just in case you get tired of doing nothing.

He was right the cottages were simple but very comfortable with everything that you need at your finger tips. Just bring the stuff you need to make s'mores by the fire in the evening.

If you need a fancy B&B to be happy, this may not be the place for you. If you enjoy a spectacular sunset and the beauty of nature all around, you will love Sea Escape Cottages.

I can't wait for our next visit.

We owned a cottage resort in Canada for five years and sold it this year so we had summer vacation time! We just stumbled onto Sea Escape, expecting we could only find a motel on short notice but mid-week, there was one cottage open. We were VERY picky on how we ran our resort and Sea Escape is the same. If you want the Ritz, this is not your place, but to get away, have a clean well equiped cottage with great Inn Keepers, the entertainment of watching the lobsterman haul their pots every morning while you eat breckfast on the deck on the waters edge and tons of things to see on day trips, this is it! A view from every cottage porch is the bay.

Make sure you go to the local lobster wholesaler and get your lobster that has come just off the boat, it was $4.00 a pound for us.

This was the first trip to Maine for my husband & I. I looked at over 30 properties online trying to find the right accommodations. This place turned out to be perfect. It reminded me of a stay at a favorite aunt & uncle's house. Les & Donna and family were wonderful. The other people staying in the cottages became fast friends around the fire at night. We were secluded, yet minutes away from shopping & sightseeing. The view from our cottage was picture perfect. It's not often we go to the same place twice. We may be making an exception for this place.

Our extended family gathered on Bailey Island for 3 nights and stayed at Sea Escape. We had teenagers, adults to age 60, kids down to 9. They offer a variety of cottages and apartments with fabulous views of the water and lobster boats bringing in the catch. We swam off the front of the property each day- the water was warm enough to stay in and do some "laps", their "beach" a bit rocky so bring those rubber swim shoes, but fine access. Pulled Maine chairs around the fire pit for sunsets and late night star watching. The family also rented their sailboat for a 6 hour cruise around the islands- the owners daughter Bethany was captain and gave us a great experience- very flexible and reasonably priced. A great location to bicycle around as well. Highly recommend this place. My only suggestion is to have a few more fans available for when the night air gets still.

An absolutely wonderful place to relax and enjoy the "Taste of Maine". Remote enough to be very quiet and serene, yet close enough to all the attractions. You can sit on your porch and watch gorgeous sunsets, watch the lobster trawlers at work, and listen to the sounds of the coast of Maine. Accommodations were very clean and the owners were really friendly and helpful. We loved it. We'll be back.

I just stayed here for a long weekend with friends. The weather was fabulous, the views amazing, the hospitality wonderful. Sea Escape Cottages is such a wonderful retreat from everyday life. Having traveled all the way from California, I was instantly relaxed the minute we pulled onto the island. We have been coming here for years, and look forward to it every summer.
