From a distance the bridge looks beautiful. On the bridge the panels on the sides spoil the view but they are very effective in preventing strong winds being a problem. There is less wind on the bridge than on the approach roads.

Walled the bridge on s windy but dry winter's day and continued on coastal path thru enchanting North Queensferry to Dalgety Bay. Very interesting, historical and varied walk. A grand day's outing. Will return with our young grandsons soon.

Just get a train or bus to Dalmeny or South Queensferry to view this amazing structure. Walk along the road bridge for a better view.

Firstly this photograph shows the Railway Bridge in all it’s splendour. The Forth Road Bridge is the “new addition “ and much more contemporary. Worth a visit and a lifeline between Fife and Edinburgh.

Driving over the Queensferry Crossing, heading south, we could see this old stunner to our left. World class and still very iconic!
