In the heart of Plantation Country on the Mississippi River, the fully guided experience includes the Big House, gardens & original 1840s slave cabins. Laura is open daily from 9:30AM - 5PM except for major holidays. The first tour of the day begins at 10AM with tours beginning approximately every 40 minutes thereafter until the last tour of the day at 4PM. Before or after your Laura tour, enjoy authentic, homestyle Cajun and Creole food at B&C Seafood Market and Cajun Restaurant right next door.

A sugar cane plantation about an hours drive fron downtown New Orleans, This plantation tour was loaded with history. Our tour guide Joey was terrific. While stopping at each spot along the way, he would tell us about the history but in a storytelling way which kept us quite interested and we did not become bored at all. Highly recommended

This is an amazing place to visit. The staff is very knowledgeable, the Plantation itself is amazingly historic and beautifully maintained and they have a great gift shop! Totally recommended!

While reading my New Orleans guidebook it recommended seeing the Laura Plantation, but being the American I am I was more interested in seeing what I thought was the quintessential plantation in Oak Alley. Boy am I glad we found the time to visit Laura. Our guide was excellent and told the story and history of the Plantation and Laura and her family very engagingly. At Laura you are welcome to take any pictures you like and there are no ropes leading you around so you can't explore the rooms. The story of how Creole plantations were run vs. American plantations (i.e. Oak Alley) was amazing to learn. I had no idea woman had such power with them! Do come here. I think it's wise to visit both plantations, and they're so close it's very doable.

We were recently in New Orleans and took a two plantation tour. We did this plantation as the second part of the tour. We had a tour guide named Katie who was absolutely FABULOUS! She made the entire tour the most exciting thing we did the whole time we were in Louisiana!! She made us feel like we were right there with Laura herself! There has been so much research done on the events and people that lived there. It is an amazing tour!! The grounds were beautiful and it truly was a memorable visit!!!

Me and my friend took several plantation tours, but this was the best one we experienced! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the story of Laura, and we could really get the feeling of how life must have been on the plantation. Not only the plantation owners' lives, but also about how the slaves lived. Whereas non of the other tours really showed us how they lived, in Laura's plantation they did. The plantation house is very unusual compared to the others as it has been built by Creole's (French/German immigrants). The tour was very long compared to the others and we really enjoyed the beautiful land around the house. Great value for money!
