We really enjoyed our tour of St. Joseph's Planation, our tour guide was a retired school teacher and the tour was very educational. The home and the grounds are not as beautiful as Oak Alley but worth the tour. It is not as expensive as Oak Alley and you can actually touch all the extra they have inside the home and in the other buildings on the planation (the kids really enjoyed that part).

Others before have said it all. The tours are run by family members who have worked hard for years on the upkeep and running of this plantation. I love the decorations at Christmas! Very informative. Loved the gift shop for interesting, never-before-seen items.

Oak Alley, literally next door with family members who married between the two, is a super contrast to her better known Sister. Oak Alley, with decades as a public house, is more refined. St Jospeh's is more raw, real, and tours are not be employees, but family members. Awesome insight into Creole Culture - going back to the Land Grant form the King of France.

WORTH THE TIME AND ADDITION!

I really enjoyed the tour here. I am glad that I found this on Groupon because it was worth it! The guide was very informative and I learned a lot about the house and the area. I think this tour was better than Oak Alley.

The house was beautiful and the grounds were well taken care of... but the personal stories of the house and the guide was so friendly and a great story teller. We were able to play the pump organ and taste fruit from the tree outside. She even told us of the great view of the Oak Alley plantation down the street. Stop here for the tour, take a picture at Oak Alley from the levy and eat at Spuddy's for the perfect day trip.
