Owner description: A powerful testimony to the rich history of the antebellum south, Oak Alley invites visitors to explore all facets of her plantation past. The Slavery at Oak Alley exhibit, Civil War exhibit, Sugarcane Theater and Big House offer an experience as compelling as the plantation’s 25 historic acres and 300 year old allee of oaks.

You will get to walk throughout the house and take pictures of everything. You get to walk out on the upper balcony, which was great. We enjoyed the day here!

Make sure to be there on time - first tour at 930 am. This way you might be able to avoid the tour busses coming in later and you can keep the group you tour with small. Rooms are all in the style of the early years of the plantation.
The tour is very well explained and the story told in a very pleasant way.
It is accessible for wheel chairs but there is no elevator to get you on to the 2nd floor.

The Oak Ally is impressive.

One of the most amazing plantation houses in the area. Step back in time and tour the old plantation house and grounds. You have to get a mint julibe while your there. Take and pose for pictures in the "oak alley" that you have seen in so many pictures and movies. Great trip.

Saw this in an hotel leaflett as part of tour of this, Laura Plantion and the cemetry. It would have been $79 each. As we had hired a car it was a 40 minute drive away and just $12 each, for each plantation. I think if you went on this as an expensive bus trip you may feel cheated (most of the money is not going where it should).

At $12 per visit it was excellent value. The restaurant on the site is good too.

Beautiful plantation - one of my favorites in the area (along with Nottoway and Oak Alley). There's a restaurant on the plantation and an ice cream shop so it is a great day trip for couples or families. After you tour the home, you can buy a mint julep. Really nice.
