After many years this pub is on the up. The ( years overdue) updating is very welcome. The bar area now feels welcoming and warm. The staff are first rate . The beer is very very good and my wife liked very much the house red. The food menu is small but the better for that. Two different pies were on offer the night we called . Unfortunately , both had , very slightly, undercooked meat. An extra ten minutes or so in the oven would have turned slightly chewy stewing steak/pork into something more succulent. The pie topping was lovely though and the chips were superbly done and the veg was fine . Oh, the portions were more than ample. Our starter was good as well. So well done the Owners and we will be back !!
