“Perfect Southern Hospitality”
Reviewed April 20, 2008

Frank and Joyce were the epitome of southern hospitality starting with the warm embrace we were greeted with upon arrival. A stay at their home really does feel like "home". The home is comfortable, quiet and guests are well cared for. We even joined them at their local church on Sunday where we were introduced like family. They made our night in Thibodaux a great experience. Highly recommended.

Our visit to Naquin's Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful experience! We felt as though we were visiting in the home of beloved relatives, even though we just met our hosts on the day we arrived. Joyce and Frank Naquin are a living example of gracious southern hospitality. We left out for our adventures each day after eating an awesome breakfast prepared and served by our hosts. If you have a chance to visit with the Naquin's, don't miss your opportunity. We very highly recommend it!

I can't recommend Frank and Joyce Naquin's Bed and Breakfast more highly. From the front door, they extended to us the epitome of Southern hospitality. Their home is clean, bright and comfortable. They shared with us like family- making grits with cheese and blueberry crepes. The towels are fluffy, the bathrooms are tidy and generously stocked. The Naquins are wonderful company and provided us with great suggestions on local events of interest. They are friendly and open, yet very respectful of one's privacy and need.
What a find.

Frank and Joyce Naquin are Acadians with a long family history in the area -- ask to see their Family Tree and you will see names there that now are names of parishes, towns and streets of Louisiana.

The home is a comfortable 1950's house (not an old style southern home) with rooms on the ground floor and upstairs. They also have a couple "apartment" type accommodations which work wonderfully for longer stays or for families. We chose a ground floor room and slept very comfortably.

Joyce gives you a wonderful choice of breakfasts -- her crepes are just too good. Fresh squeezed satsuma juice was also on the menu. There is a fridge available for you to tap into at will, even for the middle of the night snack or drink.

Frank and Joyce create an atmosphere that is just like visiting good friends. If you want -- they happily sit and visit with you, telling you many bits and pieces of the history of the area. Their restaurant referral was dynamite (and no tourists there, either) 2 soft shell crabs as a dinner --- for $15 is nothing to sneeze at!!

Thibodaux is an easy drive to New Orleans -- we stayed on our last night in La. and they drove to the airport -- about a hour.

The internet server down there doesn't always work right -- so if you can't get in touch by internet -- give them a phone call!.

  • Liked — Hospitality of the hosts
  • Disliked — Internet in room was not functioning right that day. But, they let me use theirs, so no problem
