We were spending our last night of the vacation in Thibodaux and were pleased to stay at the Carnel Inn. The property had recently been upgraded and when we checked in the owner/operater came to the reception area. He told us about the place and how it had been family run for many years.
We checked in a went to our room by the pool. It was a large clean room with a king sized bed. That evening was the night of a special dinner by the local college which has a culinary program. They have a large dining room that could accommodate all the guest.
We chose a simple dinner elsewhere and were given some good recommedations.
The next morning we sampled the morning breakfast at 8 am or so. It had been basically decimated by the group who were also there. A large group of telecommunications workers were staying as well. They had an early start and were able to enjoy the fine spread that was there. The spoonful of grits and biscuit and sausage taste was an indicator of a nice spread. The person maintaining the area clearly had a lot on her hands.More
