I didn't know what to expect from this vacation rental thinking it would be in the wilderness and away from civilization. I thought the home would be small but that wasn't the case either. It was a spacious 2 bedroom with an open kitchen, dining and living aspect. It was clean. There were stairs to get in the house. The two rooms had doors leading outside to the deck.
The home was right on the water and close to Lake Pontchartrain. The area was washed away in Katrina and there were some stilts left where houses used to be. It was close to stores and roads plus the highway.
It was about 25 to 35 minutes to New Orleans downtown.
The grill and little boats were nice but it is Louisiana. No small boats for me as alligators were in the water. I didnt see any large ones but it was late February. The wrap around deck and lower deck were nice. There were lights out there for late night grilling or fishing although you don't really want lights fishing at night.
The bridge took a little getting used to but wasn't bad. It was around 6 to 8 miles long. At least it wasn't the long one which is like 28 miles long. Whew!!!
There were small clubs and a few restaurants right down the road.
It wasn't bad for a small cozy get away.
I enjoyed the stay and the wine from the owners.
I will think of this place again in the future. I want to fish and its a good opportunity to fish right off the deck.
My little adventure in the bayou!
Until next time!
