The portion sizes are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher.
First we got a blooming onion. When the waiter put it on the table the five of us looked at it with amazement. It was a sad, pathetic sight. It should have been thrown out. The portion of fries was very small. My wife's baked potato was the size of a tennis ball. The cesar salad was barely enough to cover the plate.
I guess when they started using smaller plates they thought no-one would notice. I don't mind spending the money but I felt ripped off.

The service was great. The food was better than expected. Our waitress got double sat and was still able to provide excellent service.

My Honey and I stopped in to the Slidell Outback Steakhouse for a late dinner. Upon entering, we were greeted by the Hostess who led us through the maze of table/booth compartments, to a table(our request). This Outback was recently renovated to its current form of a glaringly lit, boring, unfriendly dining area, the norm for a bunch of today's chain food outlets. Loaded with back-to-back booths to pack customers in like cattle.
Anyway, after ordering drinks from our friendly, courteous server, we both chose the Outbacker Burger, add Cheese ($10.99), cooked "medium", with the optional Loaded Baked Potato. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, so our food arrived at the table relatively fast. The burgers were perfectly cooked, tender, and surprisingly delicious, with a great beefy, grilled flavor. It was served on a tasty, yet sturdy, bun and I would have to say this is one of the best burgers in the Slidell, LA area. The fountain drinks were OK at $2.75 each, not watered down.
The bottom line, if you can stand the boring decor of this Outback, you can get a great burger. Other menu items were kind of pricey...

We had been traveling for a week and glad to get home. So, we wanted a quick and tasty steak. We have dined in at the restaurant many times. But, we wanted to relax at home. So, we ordered take out. The Victoria Steaks was excellent, as usual. The "Dine Rewards" are an excellent value also.
