My husband and I stayed here from 4/30-5/2 for the New Orleans Jazz Fest. We only stayed here because there were NO hotels in New Orleans or Metarie. This was pretty much the closest city with availability and didn't have scary reviews. It was only about 20 minutes away from New Orleans and was a very nice stay. The hotel is near lots of restaurants and right off the highway. Staff was very friendly. The room was nice. Had a flat screen tv, which is always a plus. The bed was alright, nothing special. The parking is my only complaint. There was plenty of it but the spaces were very tight. One night i couldnt even get into the car so my husband had to back out first. Other then that, we had no complaints. There's nothing to do in this town but if you're looking to go to New Orleans and don't want to be bothered with the traffic and crowds, this is a nice town to stay in.

Dear Snowfaery5, we hope you had a blast at Jazz Fest, it was one of the best attended Jazz Fests in many years and I know the rain didn't dampen the die hard fans one bit.

Thank you for your wonderful comments about the hotel and its service team. I have shared your thoughts with the whole staff, and it made our day.

We love to make our guests smile and are always looking for ways to improve their stay. Since your stay we have introduced free hot Belgian waffles made fresh to do order in the morning.

As you have discovered how conveniently located we are to New Orleans events, please try us again for some of the other local festivals such as Essence Fest, Heritage Fest and of course Mardi Gras. You can also become a Facebook Fan. Thanks Again.

I had a three night stay here and would definitely come back. This particular Best Western was very clean, (generally quiet), comfortable and suited all of our needs. The firm mattress was in great shape, quite a few channels were available on their flat-panel TV and the room's refrigerator was sized to hold more than enough treats for a traveling family. And the carpet didn't stain our socks - that's nice. NOTE: the king suite room we stayed in had an inter-room door, connecting to an adjoining suite. It's locked but read on...

My only gripe was the noise-level on our second night stay. A traveling family of five was placed in the room next to ours and as typical of the partially deaf (or socially deficient) they talked loud and clear until late at night. Grandma laughed, toddlers shrieked, mom and dad talked incessantly. The walls seemed to do a good job holding back the sound but the inter-room door did NOTHING to block the sound. I could not only hear, but understand every word our neighbors were saying through that door. So, the door is a noise problem but the hotel staff even moreso. They placed a large family next to other travelers. Oh, but that was just one night. The other two were perfect. ;)

The free breakfast is a basic continental and mini-steamer setup. You get coffee, eggs, gravy, bacon. Also you get cold bagels insta grits and oatmeal (Quaker Oats pre-packaged - just add hot water) and fruit. Enough to get you going.

The staff were so professional, helpful, friendly.... the best stay we've had in a long, long time. This is how hotel stays used to be. Attention has been paid to the details in this hotel and it shows! The staff were truly "at your service" and glad to do it.

The competition in Slidell amongst several garden variety motels is close, but unfortunately not fierce. Don't let the few rankings fool you: Slidell motels are highway side places catching sleepy travelers that can't make it 30 more miles.

The somewhat hidden location of this motel, not visible from the highway -another motel sits in front of it- is a little of a let down. The breakfast is basic, but that's to be expected from a BW.

One thing to note, this motel has a very good cable channel line up. If you prefer Best Western then this chain will not disappoint. But in Slidell there is a better choice. And its 2 exits south on the east side of I 10.

We stayed at the Best Western Slidell Inn in Slidell, LA during a return trip from Walt Disney World. The reason I chose this hotel was due to its close proximity to New Orleans, which we planned to tour the next day.

We arrived at this hotel at around 8:00 in the evening and our first impression was the overly crowded swimming pool. It was swarming with kids – all preteen boys - and the noise level waaaay was up there.

HOWEVER, once we were in our room we did not hear a peep from the pool and overnight it was very quiet, so I guess the overhaul this hotel received post-Katrina included some serious sound barrier insulation.

I had an advance reservation so check-in was a breeze but to add to that, the front desk clerk was extremely pleasant, and the epitome of Southern grace and hospitality. In fact, all of the employees there were very pleasant, and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

The rooms are NICE and I dare say the tasteful décor and quality of bed linens is the equivalent to a luxury, full-service Marriott or a Hilton. The bathroom was spacious and super-clean. Beds are plush and comfortable.

I had no technical issues with the free wireless internet. The clerk will give you a login and password upon check-in - I was online in mere moments.

Once checked in we were too tired to leave our room so we ordered pizza from the number on the room key. It was delivered to us hot & fresh in less than 30 minutes, directly to our hotel room so we didn’t need to go down to the lobby to pick it up.

The free breakfast the next morning included eggs, sausage, and biscuits as well as donuts, coffee, juice, fruit and cereal. Overall, we enjoyed an excellent stay at this hotel.
