We only stayed one night here and although the room was nice and the front desk clerk (Lauren) was awesome, the free hot breakfast is so sad and pathetic, it kills the deal.

We had a king room with a pull-out sofa. The bed was too firm for my tastes but had lots of pillows and nice bedding. If using the pull-out, I highly suggest that you bring extra bedding or the metal bars/springs in the sofa will make you feel like you've been in a kick-boxing match all night.

The A/C worked great. The sink area is outside of the bathroom, a plus when traveling with kids. Our room had a nice size mini-fridge, coffee maker, small microwave and flat-screen TV. Wi-fi is free and does not require a code. The walls are pretty thin, we could hear a baby crying next door throughout the night.

The free breakfast. Lord have mercy, where do I start?! Watered down fake OJ and apple juice, tiny (and I mean TINY), pastries, muffins and danishes. Greasy bacon, white bread only, biscuits, watery pepper gravy. No eggs, no yogurt, no fruit, no hot cocoa or tea. Instant grits, fake cheerios and fake frosted flakes. ONE waffle maker. ONE! Really? With 20+ people crowding into the breakfast area, they only have one waffle maker and 4 tables with chairs. Yes, just 4 tables. People were standing in the lobby and hallway holding a plate, trying to eat.

The fitness room has one treadmill, one elliptical machine and one stationary bike. The room is kept cold and has a great TV, but is very, very small. No ice machine on third floor, only on the ground floor.

Overall, for a one night stay, this is a good location, but at this price, not having an adequate breakfast spread or adequate seating kills the deal. We would NOT stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on 3rd floor are less noisy. Rooms 308 and higher are farther from the elevator.

Tripping to Winston-Salem, NC., from South Texas. Very late on the evening of 2/12,201, walked up to the front desk and were addressed by the nicest person named Nikkie. She got us our room, (on the ground floor, to allow us to view our vehicle fully loaded with many personal items. She pointed out which luggage carts would operate easiest. We inquired as to where we might find a place to eat @ such a late hour. She immediately thought of two restaurants that might be open that late on a Sunday night. She, then, took it on herself to phone the restaurants, verlified which was open and gave us directions to get there.
To anyone traveling, we highly recommed this establishment. To Nikkie's supervisors, you should promote her to the next available position (Site manager, at least). Corporate level training co-ordinator would be served greatly if you decided to use her talents for training your site associates. This lady is special. She needs to be recognized and rewarded.

Room Tip: Take the advice of excellent staff members, like Nikkie.

I have stayed at the Best Western, Slidell, LA many many times (at least 30 times). I stay there because it is always clean, well secured, and has very good customer service. I travel to New Orleans on a regular basis and it is only minutes from downtown NOLA. I get the convenience of the locality and the savings of a hotel not in downtown. Their continental breakfast is ALWAYS good and the rooms are always fresh, clean and quiet. I cannot suggest a better stay when coming to either Slidell or NOLA.

Room Tip: Always ask to be upgraded to the King Suite. There is more room and it gives a nice sitting area...

I had a business trip and stayed at the Best Western plus in Slidell. I had a great visit there, the staff was friendly and very helpful. Being from Alabama I expected to be frowned upon but during my check out the Hotel Manager a super great guy! said: Alabama will have a good day on the 9th - Roll Tide!

Just ribbing Martin, you and your staff were wonderful, the breakfast was outstanding, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the location was just perfect us. I hope 2012 brings many great things for you and your staff.

This was a real find! While the route to the hotel is a little tricky, it is well worth the trip. The hotel is fairly new and is carefully laid out and decorated. The night staff was super friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The breakfast consisted of hot foods (as stated) and was presented efficiently in a clean eating area. There is an off-street parking lot with a side entrance door located close to the elevator. The rooms are large and pleasantly decorated. Though close to the Interstate, there is not much road noise within the room.
Check-in and check-out was efficient. There is no restaurant in the building, but they are many located close by. Definitely a place to return to.

Spent three nights over Christmas while visiting in-laws. Looks like a new hotel but was actually redone a couple of years ago. Everything was clean and fresh. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable with fridge and microwave. Cable TV was the best with most channels of anyplace I've been. While many properties advertise a breakfast this BW delivers one. Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, mufffins, waffles, fruit and more. Staff members making sure there is plenty of fresh food all morning. The best breakfast buffet. If you like boiled Louisiana shrimp or crabs try Kenney's. Brought some back to eat at hotel----excellent. Great place to stay---easy access to St Tammany and New Orleans. Will stay here again
