Owner description: Picture the moss hanging on gnarled cypress trees as you travel into one of the wildest and most pristine river swamps in America. With the swamp tales of pirates and sightings of Big Foot in the back of your mind, you may be just a little bit nervous at first, but after your first boat ride you'll want to go back again and again! You'll be overcome by the primitive beauty of the cypress trees rising from the water...the sweet smell of wild azaleas in the air....

Setting up the trip was easy to do online. The day before we left out I received a courtesy call to confirm and let us know where the driver would pick us up as well as the time. The cab driver, Lucien Miller ( I still have his card) was great. He was very reassuring about the tour and the people running it and gave quite a bit of information about the area and the people since Katrina. You could tell he loved his job and his city.

When we arrived we checked in and only waited about 10-15 minutes before they called our names and we loaded up on the boat. Our guide, Pop or Captain Pop, was great. He grew up in the area and was loaded with information. He made certain to get both sides of the boat into areas that would allow everyone to get great pictures. He answered every question thrown at him and even told childhood stories of swimming in the river. We saw gators, snakes, turtles, birds and beautiful hidden areas back in the swamp. We can't wait to go back and take the kids.

Very professional tour, much better than anticipated. Our driver John picked us up from our hotel and gave a very informative commentary of the area, information regarding Hurricane Katrina was invaluable to us. Comfortable 45 minute drive to our swamp tour. Gave us some great restaurant tips on the journey back to our hotel. In his words 'a good ol redneck boy'.
Charlie our captain for the swamp tour was a local swamp man who was extremely knowledgable
of the area was nothing short of fantastic. It was an amazing experience slowly meandering through the bayous at a sedate pace, enticing the gators with food, and there were gators everywhere. A beautiful experience not to be missed, very peaceful and informative. Highly recommend this tour for families and anyone wanting a true bayou experience.

Family of 4 took the swamp tour on July 1. Called ahead and booked the tour, then drove out to the location - easy to find, about 40 minutes from downtown hotel. Registered at the desk and then called out to board the boat - very well organized. Guide was friendly and helpful - answered lots of questions and made sure everyone had close ups of alligators. Their boats hold only about 20 people so they can get right into the bayou where the larger boats can't go. After about an hour or so of seeing alligators and other wildlife really close up the guide takes you back out to the main river channel and speeds down to a cajun village on the river and speeds back. Total tour length was a bit over 2 hours and really welll worth the price. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend this group to others looking for a good swamp tour.

You have the option of driving out or being picked up in NO. Would recommend driving out - it's easy to find and you save some money on the tour price that way. Family of 4 paid under $100.

Highly recommend. Its a sure thing you will see alligators. They fed them hotdogs off a long stick so they come out to see the boat I think. Captain was humorous and worked hard to help you get good pictures.
