A great tour and excellent value, only 25 dollars for over two hours! Our tour guide, Captain Troy, was highly entertaining and very knowledgable. He makes sure you get to see lots of 'gators...up very close! I would highly recommend this tour for value and entertainment. The swamps are beautiful and the animals are wonderful.

John, our Captain, was funny, knowledgeable and entertaining. My boyfriend and I are big fans of alligators and this trip did not disappoint. John said there aren't normally that many gators out, but we saw no fewer than 20 during our tour. The up-close experience with these gators shows you that, while very much a wild animal, the alligator is a fairly docile creature.

John also spoke about the trees and vegetation as well as other creatures that share the swamp with the gators.

The tour length was just long enough and there are no bad seats on the boats.

One tip - don't expect to see a lot of gators in September as we were told that's open hunting season for gators - and I think they know it!

Great tour with excellent Capt. Greg. Very knowledgable about the area, the wildlife, the ecosystem -- you could sense how respectful and humble he was of his surroundings. We travelled throughout the Southeast over a week or so and stopped at beaches and many sights along the way; this was a - maybe THE - highlight. The reservation staff was great, too. Strongly recommend!

My fiancée, myself, and my future in-laws took the Cajun Encounters Honey Island Swamp tour and were treated to a wonderful time. The boats are low to the water so you are nearly level with it, allowing you to really get up close with the gators and other wildlife in the swamp. Seeing the first gator of your trip is a rush, but the true highlight is getting out there where you are sure to be swarmed by a good half dozen gators. There are also wild pigs, a wide variety of insects, turtles, and birds to be seen, not to mention the beautiful scenery. Our tour guide, Captain Greg, was informative, helpful, and humorous, answering all the questions posed to him. He was full of facts, history, and stories that made the trip all the better. If you are considering doing a swamp tour, I highly recommend using Cajun Encounters.

This was a great family excursion. Our kids absolutely loved it. We were surprised that we were able to get so close to much of the wildlife. We saw blue herron, wolf spiders, wild boar, crane , a lubber grasshopper rode with us for the entire trip and of course, lots of gators. We also saw Cajun camps and learned a bit about their lifestyle. Captain Greg did a great job of interacting with the kids and answering their questions. The kids are already asking when we can go again.
