Wow. Stayed here 10 years ago. Nothing has been fixed since. Our room was nice but had a sweet smell of sewage. The front A/C heater did not work at all. They did say they would replace it at 11:pm, we said forget it. $129 was very steep. A lady at the front desk was very upset about here safety, water was coming out of the electrical plugs. Went in Sunday morning to check out the breakfast. All...ALL food holders were empty, like bacon and eggs. People already sitting were waiting on new food to arrive, We went to our favorite diner anyway..airline drive and int. 20. STAY AWAY

We stayed here for a Sat & Sun night stay for my birthday getaway. We made reservations through Expedia. I had called the hotel a couple of times before we got there and the clerk was very courteous in answering all of my questions!

We had a full king bed non smoking suite. The room was very nice, with a full kitchen (stocked with microwave, stove, full fridge, sink, coffee maker, utensils, real plates, glassware and dishwasher!) All of these full suites were located in a seperate two story building to the side of the main hotel. If you want one of these suites you need to let the clerk know when confirming the reservation. The kitchen had a bar area to eat at and drinks & snacks are avialable in the room and the prices are listed on a card (very pricey though! $1.75 for can of Coke). The sitting room had a fold out sleeper sofa, tv & dvd player, amore w/dresser, fireplace & chair. The bed was a lovely four poster king, with tv in amore, small table with office type chair. . The mattress was so comfortable!!! We loved sleeping on that bed! There was also a closet w/iron and board, outside sink & vanity with stool. The bathroom was on the small side, but everything was clean and worked. We were very happy with the room.

The hotel has a shuttle service that will take you to a casino and then bring you back before 11pm. The shuttle will not, however take you between casinos. Our shuttle driver was very nice and courteous with great stories! The front desk was very prompt and nice, no problems at all. We had the free breakfast buffet and it was ok, nice to have hot food and not just cereal and donuts! The buffet service was slow though, I think only one person was doing the whole room.

The location of this hotel is directly by the interstate so there is some traffic noise and not much of a view. Also, the parking lot is gated and during the evening only one gate is open to the hotel lot. If you miss it, you may wind up having to get back out on the freeway and then getting off at the next exit and turning around like we did one evening!! The hotel was quiet for the most part.

We really enjoyed our stay here and this room would be great for an extended stay!

We have stayed at the Best Western Chateau Suite Hotel twice in the last two years (12/04 & 4/05). Both times we found the room & bathroom to be clean and well cared for. The staff is generally courteous and pleasant to deal with.

The property is within easy walking distance of several casinos, however I wouldn’t suggest doing so at night or if alone, besides the hotel has a complementary shuttle service. There is a nice pool area with comfortable lounge chairs – but it is located right next to a very busy road, so be prepared for a LOT of noise!

The breakfast buffet rates way above most hotels’ usual continental fare, with hot items such as eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy and pancakes. However, while it seemed to be sufficiently staffed, the wait personnel usually seem disorganized and overwhelmed – even though it’s not a huge dining area. Oh and skip the gravy, it’s truly awful and you’ll be glad you saved the calories!

Our only real complaint with the hotel is that, on both visits, we were later charged for mini-bar items that we didn’t take. But what made the problem worse were the numerous calls we had to make to get the charges reversed. Each time it took over a month to get resolved and at least 4 phone calls! In fact I guess they got tired of me calling as their accounting manager told me, rather snippily, that from now on we should ask to have the mini-bar locked up upon our arrival – which is what we’ll do!!

We took a last minute trip to the Shreveport/Bossier City, LA area over the Memorial Day weekend. Of course, all the casinos were already booked, but one of the agents referred us to Best Western Chateau. I am not a fan of Best Western, but took her suggestion. We chose a suite room. Although it is a no frills hotel, we were very comfortable. The room was clean, nice size bedroom with adjoining living room, and additional TV. Small kitchen area with full sized refrigerator, stocked with soft drinks, water, wine also mini bottles of liquor/mixers, and snacks for a fee, of course. It is very convenient to the highway 20 ramp and not too far from the casinos and new Louisiana Boardwalk. Both of the elevator floors looked as if they had not been cleaned for months. A full breakfast was served, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, fresh fruit, pancakes, yogurt, coffee, tea, several juices. The staff was courteous. Our reservations were accurate, but the other couple with us experienced a minor problem, which is one reason I try to avoid Best Western.....that is a weak point. Over the years we have experienced problems with credit not being given on our credit card for two or three weeks, or some type of mixup with reservation. The rates are reasonable, overall, good experience.

Front desk personnel was rude upon check-in. Our suite was far inferior to those of others who were staying there at the same special wedding rate. We were placed at the end of the corridor near the service elevator and near housekeeping. I never did get a receipt for my charges, and only learned them upon receipt of my credit card statement. Only redeeming feature was the excellent free full breakfast. Because of our bad treatment by the front desk, and the location and condition of our suite, I would not stay there again, and definitely would not recommend it. Our stay at the hotel was in June, 2004.

Hotel is in a great downtown location with a gated parking lot. The rooms were nice and clean; staff was exceptionally polite and helpful; facilities were terrific. We plan to stay here again when we are in this area.

This hotel was one of the greatest I have ever stayed at! Refreshingly courteous hotel staff, great breakfast, great rooms, wonderful shuttle service, wonderful area. We walked to casinos and shuttled to other area attractions. All in all, this was the best hotel experience!
