Anybody visiting Shreveport must stop in for Strawn's famous pie. Seasonal strawberry and peach are the best in the state.

“Great breakfast!”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

Strawn's has all the traditional items you need for a Southern breakfast. The pancakes are light and fluffy and the biscuits buttery. I just wish the coffee were stronger! The daily specials comprise everything you would expect for a Southern meal. It's chief rival for this kind of food in Shrevveport is the Southfield Grill, which has a much more extensive menu, and while, not as venerablel or beloved, actually has better food (sssshhhh!).

My husband spent a year trying to get me to go here just because "it was in Southern Living". It wasn't great or worth it at all. If you park in the back, you have to walk through part of the serving area, which was dirty and gross. We were seated up in the front, with a view of the grill, and that didn't look clean either.

My BLT was good, but the fry portions were WAY too big, and the only thing different about the strawberry pie was the huge amount of whipped cream. Unfortunately, the cleanliness negated anything good about the food.

“Food Average, waitress very unsanitary!!!”
Reviewed December 15, 2011

Ate here for the second time a few weeks ago. Food is average at best, but this is not why I am writing this review. I witnessed a waitress, who must have been ill when we visited, constantly wiping her running nose, then proceed to handle her customers glasses to refill. It was the most disguisting thing I have ever witnessed in a restaurant. Since it was not my table she was waiting on, we told a person sitting at a table that she was waiting on what we had seen, so hopefully they complained to the manager. Make sure you have a H1N1/flu shot before eating at this restaurant.
