“Great Cafeteria Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

Went here specifically for the pie. They were out of banana that day, but we had chocolate and a piece of strawberry too. Good food, good crust, great coffee and reasonable prices. The clientele seemed varied and interesting and there didn't seem to be a specific demographic. The second time we went there (the next day), we had the banana pie. Everything is fresh and homemade and the restaurant is clean. Tastes like home cooking, priced like it's 1988.

“Great greasy spoon diner food & pie.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

My family has been coming to Strawn's since the 50's. Its typical diner food, however they have seriously perfected the art of it. Burgers are greasy and fantastic, service is always good, friendly, local. Make sure to follow up your meal with a piece of pie. I have extra special love for this location too, last time we were in town (alone with nobody left in town we knew) our car wouldn't start and an especially sweet waitress came out during her shift to jump our car. Love these people and this place.

“Down hill”

Not much, service wasn't too bad. It is not as good as the original. The food was bland and not very hot. I will not go back.

“Loved the pie”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013

First time here. Had the plate lunch on Sunday. Tried the chicken fried steak. Not the best ever, but good. Enjoyed the sides, but the salad was a little overdressed. But the chocolate pie was delicious!

“AWFUL MEAL”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

My hubby and I are traveling cross country to NH. We were excited to reach SHREVEPORT. We were looking forward to some good southern cooking. We both ordered the chicken fried steak. It was in front of us in less than 5 minutes. The menu called it "hot plates" but the only thing hot was the side of gravy. Instant mashed potatoes, shredded iceberg lettuce for salad and the chicken fried steak was cold and greasy. The best part of the meal was the rolls and the pie. If you want desert go here. If you are looking for a good meal, STAY AWAY!
